THis place is my sanity. This has been the worst week of my life. My DH is still unemployed. After 2 year long tours in Iraq as a reserve officer, it seems incredibly unfair. I had to cancel the Disney trip we'd all been looking forward to. My kids contracted the L word - -I can't even write it out it is so incedibly horrifying. I just threw out all of the linens in the house, and everything that wasn't wood or plastic in my livingroom - -the rug, the sofa, chairs etc. I cannot go through this again.

I finally opened the unexpected package that arrived from Rhonda a few days ago in the midst of this turmoil -- she didn't know about any of this. It was a set of dinosaur stamps and a note that simply said I saw these and thought of your kids. This act of kindness and generosity means so much to right now I don't have the words to express it.

This is why I love this place -- today is was an unexpected act of kindness from Tinkerbean, but tomorrow it will be some other member of our group being kind and supportive to someone else. It happens daily and I am grateful.

 Susan.

It is incredibly unfair that your DH cannot find work. My nephew is home from Iraq as well, and is going through a lot of PTSD and is not able to get the help he needs. It isn't right that people are fighting for our freedom and are not getting the support they need once they get home. Please thank John again from my family.

Susan- I am so sorry to hear about your problems- I will be praying for your family.

Oh Susan.. I am so sorry to hear this... I knew something was up because you check in so regularly but I never imagined all of that...
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!! Hang in sweetie.. it will get better..but it does chap my hiney that our service men/women get their chains yanked when it comes to get help they need or return to jobs!

Oh Susan - I had no idea..., now I am a puddle of tears

Every time I see Dinosaurs I think of your kids, so of course those stamps had to be for your little ones.

I *hate* the "L" word.

Numerous times (too many to count) I have been the one to received incredible amounts of support and raks. You've always inspired me with your strength, raising your children while your husband away. Lean on us - we will all be here for you...

Tinker is really good at knowing when to send little somethings that are just what is needed at the right time.

I hope you are able to take care of the "L" stuff. I am so glad I have boys that I could buzz cut if necessary. Me too, it came that. Isn't like there is anybody here to pick through my hair.

Pixie Dust that a job comes through for DH.

 Susan  I hope things get better soon. How sweet that TB sent that gift for your kids. This really is a wonderful place!!!! Hang in there!

Susan,
So sorry to hear what you are going through. If I wasn't having the baby so soon I would make plans to get together. We live so close and I would love to be able to cheer you up. We dealt with the L word and I was devastated. I'm sending you pixie dust. I am going to be off until the end of Oct so maybe when I am recovered we can meet for coffee or something maybe sweets instead.
keep your chin up

Cindy

:grouphug: If you need friends...you know where to come! :grouphug:

Sending P&PD that your life becomes less stressful. :wizard:

As for the "L"... it'll be OK, I promise!

That's horrible - every bit of it, you poor thing. Sending dust to you and your family!

We really are blessed with a TERRIFIC group of friends here!! I'm so sorry about your DH and the job situation. I'll be sending prayers and pixie dust for that!!

About the "L" word--once you have rid your life of them, did they mention to you to use coconut shampoo? Suave makes one. "L"'s HATE the smell of coconut, so they will avoid it. Yep, that was one of the bullet points the year I went through new teacher orientation!! ;)

I feel so bad you are going thru such a tough time. PD for you and your husband, and double pd to get rid of the L :scared1: word.

We really are a lucky group to have each other. I'm so sorry for all that you are dealing with. Hang in there. Let us know how we can help.

Thanks to all. I can't wait until this is over. I just want to stick my family in a bubble and come back out in month or so.

You poor poor thing! And how your DH must be feeling - the ingratitude after what he did!

here's hoping for a corner turning soon! (PS tea tree is another smell those little things hate!! A tea tree shampoo is a good deterrant - against biting insects too. My friend's kids picked them up in the cinema:scared1:)

:hug:Hang in there Susan-sending prayers & pixie dust your way.

And tell DH thank you from us here in Ga. :)

Susan--sending pixie dust & prayers. The tea tree or coconut scents are excellent ideas (I used them when I taught pre-school and I never got "L" although I was the teacher that had to "check" everyone before their parents could drop the kids off :scared1: Remember to bag all stuffed animals and put them in the heat/sun for a couple days before you wash them ;)

DH was in the Navy for 12 years and he had a terrible time finding a job when he got out, we even had to move in with his parents for six months. I'll be thinking of you and your DH and praying that he finds something really soon. Please tell him that the Hammer clan says thanks for his sacrifice and yours too :thumbsup2

Susan, did you ever get the Magic Tree House books? I'm still working on Morgan to pass hers on. She's got at least 20 of them. Let me know and I'll get them in the mail to you!

he was not to happy with me.

Susan, I'm so sorry to hear about all of this.

We went through the L-word multiple times when my girls were younger. 3 long-haired girls - it was awful - so I can imagine your frustration right now. Hang in there!

And I'm so sorry about your DH - it is truly awful that we don't take care of our servicemen and women more. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
