Thank you screen protector

Right before this WDW trip I bought one of the cheap GGS brand thin glass screen protectors for my new camera off Ebay because I didn't like the Sony plastic clip-on one, it was just under $9 shipped.

Day 8 of 10 of the trip, I had the camera strap wrapped around my wrist with the camera dangling just below my hand as I walked around World Showcase. A kid came running from behind me, and his head ran squarely into the camera screen. I tried to make sure he was OK but apparently he was because he kept running.

Boy was I glad I had the protector on there!

I just removed the protector which was a bit of a chore, but the screen was just fine, and I ordered a new one!

Yikes! I just looked at screen protectors yesterday and couldn't decide. I may have to head back and get one right away!!!!

I lost a Sharp camcorder due to a relative busting the screen being careless so now I get the protectors also. The disposable were a pain so I opted for the polycarbonate one and once on it has been great!

I have a question on your a700- what are those two little squares right under the viewfinder?

Proximity sensor, shuts off the LCD when you put your eye up to the VF.

Also used for the eye-start AF (continuous AF when both eye and grip sensors are triggered), a feature that can be either convenient or annoying depending on the situation (I leave it on about half the time), but the A700 will probably be the last model with useful eye-start as none of the other Sony models, including A900, have the grip sensor, and it is a useless feature without both sensors as it will be constantly triggered just hanging on a neck strap.

it's not as bad as it looks, using the flash from 2 inches away made every little dust particle seem huge. But I will give it a good dusting, and pick up some Head & Shoulders for good measure

I have one on my D80 and before your post thought it was annoying with the smutz that gets under it and its aggravating cleaning behind it...but NOT anymore !! Thanks for the post!!
