I listened to the rest of the email show today while at work :teacher: and just wanted to say thank you for your comments about people who decided to join D23. I have expressed this in another thread before, but I originally felt uncomfortable letting everyone here know that I joined because the majority are so against it. I was concerned about more backlash than I already had seen. Your comments on the show made me feel SO much better. I can't thank you enough.

It is true that I am a Disney history buff and wanted to join because of the club's offerings. I am enjoying the magazine and certificate, card, etc. If I find that the club disappoints me over the course of a year, I will not renew my membership. But, for right now I am very happy and really appreciated your coming to our defense...meaning people who DID join...and found that this was truly a class act. :thumbsup2

Thanks again online friends! :grouphug:

I haven't finished listening to this week's shows but I am looking forward to hearing what was said. I too joined because my entire family is very interested the history of Disney. I am going to give it a year and see what we think.

I for one really want to apologize if I have made anyone feel uncomfortable. Sometimes it is so easy to go really gung ho with your negative thoughts, especially when there are many others who will reciprocate them, that you don't really think as much about what you are saying. Everything said on here can affect another person, in one way or another.

We all have our different opinions on MANY subjects, D23 being just one of them. We all have to agree to disagree, but in the process I think also make sure that the people on the other side of any given opinion aren't feeling left out.

Again, I apologize if I made anyone feel uncomfortable, or contributed to the overall feeling of it.

On that note, I'm really happy you are enjoying your purchase! It's really wonderful when you spend money and feel like you are getting something of great value! :thumbsup2

I don't know if I'd call it a great value, but I am enjoying the magazine and club so far. I am in the same boat as stitch and will try it for a year and see how it goes.

I'm more inclined to sign-up just because so many others have voiced opinions about not joining. I figure I've wasted more $$$ on other things ... like the bag(s) of Disney pins, animation cels, etc.

Sign up, enjoy, and if you are not happy -- don't renew.

If others don't want to join, doesn't mean you don't have to.

We can be quite a persuasive group here (look at the rise in Animal Crossing players and iphones and you can see the truth in it!) but it's YOUR decision. I think Disney history is interesting, but I can't afford it right now.

Even if the crew doesn't think its good, doesn't mean it isn't, heck I've listened to Kevin's food reviews before and though 'I didn't find it that bad', but hey it's all opinion! I can still go there, even if Kevin doesn't like it (not that I always disagree with your reviews Kevin!)

I'm sorry if I have ever said anything to make people feel bad for doing/joining something they want to. I am sure the podcast crew do too. The anger was directed at Disney company for hyping up an 'affinity group' which (thus far) doesn't appeal to everyone, but its GREAT if it appeals to you! If they said it was a Disney History fan club from the outset, I doubt this would of happened, and hopefully Disney will learn from it's mistakes.

I hope you get a lot out of D23, and I hope Disney proves all the ranter's and ravers wrong! :goodvibes
