My friend - a Disney pin trader, scrapbooker & DVC member - is going through a family crisis while in Orlando. There is a post on the Collector's bb. I want to publically thank Member Services & the various CMs at OKW who have been working with & helping her & her family throughout this time. I happened to be at a friend's home near WDW when I read about this & was able to be there for her for a few days. All the CMs involved have been wonderful!

I haven't read the thread regarding the crisis. In my own experience the OKW CMs are A-one when it comes to a family crisis. They came through when we needed medical help while at Epcot and they were very understanding when my dad died a week and a half before a planned trip. They were more than just a hotel in both instances.

Judith -- I just read the post. How horrible! You are terrific that you went and offered support. It's that much harder to have such a crisis when you aren't even home! The man did the right thing calling the desk. The CMs told us if we ever had an emergency to go ahead and call 911 but to call them as well so they could come and offer help, too -- even something like driving to the ER.

My prayers go out for a full recovery.

The OKW CMs certainly are first rate. We had an issue where my mother went to the hospital when we were at OKW and they helped us cancel a non-cancelable reservation (the luau) since she couldn't attend.

This was also in the middle of Hurricane Charley and they were fantastic!
