I'll start out by saying we had some rotten luck prior to the start of our WDW trip:

We started our trip by flying into P.Rico on the 12th . Stayed in San Juan that 1st night, then rented car and drove across the island. We managed to have a family reunion of sorts for 5 days. On the Wed night prior to the day we were to drive back we had terrible storms which knocked out power. (Waaay worse than anything that would happen up here) That following morning we drove back to San Juan for 2 more nights. We surprised the kids on Friday night saying we weren't leaving to come home on Saturday Morning, but rather flying into MCO at 906 a.m. So we needed to pack and get to bed early and wake up early....

Early Sat. morning @ 4 am we get a call from (J%# B*^@) airline that the decided to CANCEL my flight . I'm like (HUH?) Why? Uhm plane troubles, they say. So instead they say the best we can do is get us out on a flight @ 8:30 PM Mon. night....I'm like Are you serious? 2 1/2 days later. No good... They said they have something into Tampa but only at 8 pm Sun nite. I said what about FLL, & he said we do have 1 leaving in less than 2 hours.

Well you want to talk about High tailing it....Getting the kids up & dressed, to grabbing all our bags, to checking out, to grabbing a taxi, to literally seeing an accident happen right ahead of us(en route to airport) to just getting our bags checked in, on time....After a short delay from so more storms we finally take off around 630 or so.

Now we have to find a way to get to GFV from (FLL). I call (car rental) to get a rate for a 1 way ride & to drop it off near the DS area. Well I figured a 212 mile journey, so probably 3 1/2 hours or so....Nope...Fla. tpk had a ACCIDENT(80 miles ahead of us )which took a lil while to clear so we new we were going to be a lil behind. In the meantime we got a phone call from my MIL saying that there was a message on our home phone from someone from Disney that had called looking for us. I'm like great, what else now...So my DW calls only to find out that No longer were we booked in a DVC Studio anymore.....I Said WHAT!!! She says Nope, they've moved us to a 2 BR.....** Almost drove off the road!!** I said o.k. but let's not get our hopes up, until we actually get there and see for ourselves.

Well low and behold, they were right, we were no longer in a studio DVC, or in any room in that bldg. They said we don't need to go to the front desk that we can proceed to our room which was 5141 in Sago Key along with 5144 to combine to make the Cape Coral Suite.

Not only was this waaay more room than I could ever imagine but low & behold this room also allowed us to utilize the club levels at the main bldg. & also Sugar Loaf... Something we would never be able to afford.. The silver lining in all of this is to basically stay positive no matter what. Deal with what comes your way & proceed forward.....
My last question if I may is How do I go about thanking or writing a letter to?

P.S. Sorry for the long boring story...

Glad the WDW portion of your trip was relaxing. (J%# B*^@) airline, it's a great airline, but man when there are ANY issues, they are horrible in irregular operations. Like Frontier and Spirit level bad! We've been hit by that, actually on our last trip WDW. I know that feeling of rushing to meet a flight, it isn't fun, so what a great upgrade for you and your family when you arrived!

Nice upgrade.

You can actually name the airline. I'd like to know the airline that actually called you to tell you if the cancellation. Most don't, you know.

That is an awesome story! So glad you got some pixie dust after such an ordeal. BTW, the same airline cancelled my flight to FLL at the beginning of August due to equipment trouble :(.

The airline initials are there if you look at the first letters of the 'curse words'.

Wonderful story. Great upgrade. Things happen for a reason.

I have been seeing a lot of complaining about this airline lately on the transportation board. That was never the case a couple of years ago. All of the cancellation and delay stories are making me worried for a trip I have scheduled in September using them (non-Florida destination).

Half an hour before we were to check out from Pop century in May, my friend got a text from Spirit that her flight was cancelled. No reason given, just flight XXX has been cancelled. She was in tears, and while trying to calm her down, I booked her a flight on Delta. After we got our refund for the coming home trip on Spirit, she blasted them on Facebook but good. So to all Spirit bookers, you too can get a last minute surprise from this ficked up airline!

We've never ever encountered any issues with this airline..In fact I'm constantly praising them for their service, the leg room & the free bags*(Which now NO LONGER exist!!

Ok..Wasn't sure...For the ones that didn't see through the messed up letters, it's JetBlue..-->:sad2:.

This is what they told me. I'm just biding my time and I'm going to choose my words wisely as a send them a fair letter!! We're flying with them in Nov. if I might add too.:confused3

I know right..As I stated up above, I've never encountered anything like this at all...And their attitude was like, oh well, What would u like me to do...:confused3 I'm starting to rack up a bunch of points too, which has got me double guessing now...

Also, for all the others thank you for your kind words...It was truly a very nice place to stay for sure...Even if we weren't in that room. The resort is a very nice place to be....

Don't worry. We fly with them frequently, and it's usually all good. For us, that was the first time they cancelled a flight of ours. They did get us to FL later in the day, and they gave us each a $50 credit for the inconvenience.

Also, for all the others thank you for your kind words...It was truly a very nice place to stay for sure...Even if we weren't in that room. The resort is a very nice place to be....
GF is the best! It is my absolute favorite WDW resort and it is the place where we have received the most pixie dust. I feel like their CMs go above and beyond.
