Thank you for all your insight and posts about the DCL. We are park vets but just returned from our first (of many - I hope) DCL vacations and it was an amazing way to spend Christmas. The Merrytime cruise was exactly what my daughter and I needed - complete with snow and treats in the lobby yesterday morning.

If you are thinking about doing a Christmas cruise, I highly recommend it.

Glad you had a great time. A actual Christmas cruise is very expensive. I recommend a merrytime cruise but not during Christmas.

You're welcome! I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your cruise.

I would also recommend a Panama Canal, Alaska, Mediterranean, Baltic Capitals, transatlantic and Caribbean cruises. They are all magic and loads of fun with or without kids. Take your time and book what you can afford (money & time). When the three new ships come out, the choices will multiply...a good thing. Glad you had a great time on your first cruise. It is one time the kids don't ask, "are we there yet?" because you are taking the park with you.

We cruised over Christmas on the Fantasy in 2014 and it was a Fantastic cruise. We booked it as soon as the prices were released for Gold CC members and the prices skyrocketed from there. The show and snow in the lobby was magical and we hope to do this again some year, but I don't see it happening in the near future. If you can't swing an actual cruise over Christmas; as dclpluto posted, any time during a Merrytime cruise is worth it, we have done several over this time period.
