Hey Corey!

Just wanted to thank you for setting up an "official" disboards fan page on Facebook. I was very against joining facebook in the beginning but I can not believe the old friends I am able to keep in touch with again because of it. so I thought it would be very cool if The Dis was on facebook to get to know each other better... I have been looking for an "official" dis fan page for awhile and could never find it so I was so excited when I saw it this morning

It's the same with Yuwie. It was started by a guy from Norman, OK. I just can't deal with the pointless, flashy blinky ads and most of the members trying to be your "friend" to make a $$$.

ITA. I bet the DIS group is cool, but I hear way more bad things than good about both sites and last time I went to look at a My Space page, one of the very, very few times I ever did, I wound up with a ton of ad ware on my computer that had to all be deleted.

Yay! I'm so joining when I get home from work!!

I like Facebook- I've found so many old high school chums on there- now living all over the US, it's fun to see how they've grown, had kids, what they're doing now.... And my settings are all on private so no one but people I've added as 'friends' can see it. I only come up in a search. I've ONLY gotten invites from people that know me.

Now MySpace- totally a social network to play in. DH and I got out of that about 3 years ago. Too much drama.

Yay, I just joined! I like Facebook better than MySpace (which I refer to as the cesspool of the internet). Facebook does get annoying sometimes with all the pointless apps and random gifts/games people try to send you. But on the other hand, it's great for keeping in touch. And oddly enough, really good for contacting former co-workers if you need a job reference ASAP.

I just joined too. Now if there was only a way to attach our DIS screen-names to our Facebook names (Mine is different anyway.) so we could connect names and faces. Corey?

I joined too!

When I first joined Facebook, I disliked it. My friends were on and encouraged me to give it time.

Now I enjoy it. Just in the past week I have reconnected with old friends I grew up with, people I used to nanny for, etc. It's been wonderful because I thought I lost touch with some of my friends forever.
