we’ll be in AK on jan 5th. My daughter’s one Dining request is breakfast at TH. We booked a PPO at 8:05, but they are now opening the park at 8. We want to avoid the rush to Pandora. Will be allowed in earlier then the Pandora rush? Will everyone be let in at 7:45? I am trying to reschedule breakfast for 9:30 or 10, to avoid the initial craziness, but I might not be able to.

I can't say for sure be they always let us in about 30 to 40 minutes early to walk to Tusker House.

Hard to say, but if the park is very crowded before opening, they often let people into the park to get in line for Pandora. When we were there in October, we were ther 30 minutes before the official opening, the lines at Pandora were already 90 minutes and the rides were not open yet. Usually, you will be allowed in early for dining reservations. However, if the park opens early, you will still be in the rush.

I had initially booked 8:05, in hopes we’d be finished before 9 to make our way to Pandora for Na’vi River, since we don’t have a FP (our FoP FP is 5pm). Now I will need to try and hit Na’vi before our breakfast at 8:05 (if they open the park at 7:30-7:45 that might be do-able?)

I REALLY just need to move my breakfast back to 8:30 or 9:30... but I am not sure I will find it.

I would say probably not. I doubt the lines have gotten any shorter. When we were there, I don't know when they opened the park, but 30 minutes before the park was to open, the line to Na'vi was 90 minutes and FoP was over 120. If you arrive an hour plus before official opening, you might be far enough up in the line to make your reservation.

IF you are at AK by 7 a.m and IF they open early and you are at the front of the line for Na'vi, you might just make an 8:05 ADR. However, you do run the risk of being very late for your ADR and being charged a no-show fee.

Keep trying to get a later ADR. If you don't get one, plan to ride Na'vi at the end of the day.

Will everyone be let in at 7:45?

1) If you have an ADR earlier than 9:45am, they let you in at 7:45 for Tusker.
2) They DO watch to make sure you go to Tusker and not use it to get to rides early.

Even if they open the park early (7:40-7:45) and let you in, they may not open NRJ early. You may be standing in the line, very anxious for your 8:05 ADR.

I was able to update our ADR to 8:35, should this work now?

If you just want to avoid the Pandora rush, you should be ok. To my knowledge, the 8:05am ADR time slot at Tusker House is the first of the morning, even when the park opens at 8am. We've had that breakfast time there several times now and have never been let in much earlier than 7:55ish. They wait until as close as possible so the staff at Tusker House is set up and ready for the flow of people to come in.

I would really like to be able to ride Na’vi before TH, then we’ll be fine for the rest of the day. We’ll shoot for a 7:30 arrival, that gets us there 30 mins before opening, and an hour before our ADR. Maybe that’ll work.

Are you taking into account the people arriving an hour plus early just to get in line to get in?

I would guess those folks are trying to get into line for FoP? If we skip FoP, you don’t think 30 mins is early enough?

They're still all going to be in line and all heading to Pandora. So while it will likely thin out at Na'vi, I'd imagine it's still a cluster to get there.

We were there for a rop drop to FOP in August, and the line for Navi was WAY smaller! Maybe only a handful of people.

We were there in October. The park was supposed to open at 8. We were there at about 7:30 and got in early by staying on grounds. The line for FoP was 120 minutes and Navi river was 75 minutes and they hadn't opened the rides yet. Avoiding weekends may help.
