OK, my original post is below...but since no one was replying I did a search on TGM and found quite a few threads in Feb. (sorry, should have done that 1st)
Anyway, my question is this....my trip is the end of Apr...if I buy now....will I be able to sort through things and find value??? Or should I just wait and buy it for my Dec trip if I want to try it???

Thanks!

I saw a post here the other day about TGM. I had never heard of MTG and checked out his website. It looks interesting. My dilema....I am a planner and usually swear by the UG. I have used it (and these boards) to plan my trip in April/May of this yr. Now I'm thinking gee.....$20...should I subscribe and give Mike's a try? Will it give me some new and great insights??? Or is it too soon to my trip to be helpful? I've already booked hotel (though am waiting for possible AP codes to upgrade) and made some PS (though I'm still struggling w/ which park on which day and IF i'll take advantage of evening EMH or not). So those are areas I wonder if it might still be helpful.

We are also planning a trip in Dec. so maybe I just do it for that trip instead?? How much lead time should I purchase it???

I've read the testimonials on his site...but would really like to hear from the DIS board. You guys always give such great info'n!!!

TIA :wave2:

For the $20, you basically get almost the same info you get on the Unofficial Guide...Mike takes you on a ride-by-ride itinerary for your specific day so that you can supposedly avoid the crowds. He also gives you tips on the best seats, best views, etc. I enjoy the little extras and the trivia he gives you for the attractions. If you're a pretty good planner yourself, alot of the info you'll find on TGM is redundant. I'm a good planner myself, but I still enjoy his site.

Don't expect to get a plan where all you do is plug in your dates, your PS's, etc, and it will 'spit out' a minute-by-minute plan for your entire trip. You still have to take his info, his advice, and his tips, and sort it all out and put it together for your own best itinerary.

It's up to you on whether you want to spend the $20 or not! :)

Absolutely! Buy it now and you'll get lots of great advice about how to improve your trip. I've bought TGM for all of my recent trips and I find his advice much better than the guidebooks. For instance, he will give you specific advice if you are going at a really busy time (like you may be in April.) He also has message boards and he
's been good about responding to e-mails when I have very specific questions.
