So get this: Maddie and Evan decided that they're too cool for Alice and Mary Poppins. Whatever that means.

How can anyone be too cool for Mary Poppins? Alice I can see. Everyone is cooler than her, but Mary? Seriously? She can pull all sorts of stuff from her bag...and she can make medicine taste better...

I'm gonna have to challenge this one. Hello, growing-cookies? Shrinking drink? Hooka-smoking caterpillars and "magical" mushrooms? I'm sticking with Alice, thanks. Bet she plays frisbee, too.

The way I see it, Alice is surrounded by coolness, but she, herself, plays the role of victim...while Mary...heck, she dances with penguins!

On an actual trip related note, I just closed my eyes, hoped, and checked flight prices, since I've not booked any yet. I was not expecting good things...

Southwest is actually VERY good - I can get the 4 of us rountrip for $740. Not quite as good as last year, but close. But since I'm still not sure if D is joining me, I don't know whether I should book it. Help!

Can you book and then get a credit for D's ticket if he doesn't go? I know with AirTran you can do that.

I think so. I know Southwest doesn't do refunds, but I think they just credit you a ticket. Frankly that's about all we fly so it might be worth it 'cause it will get used eventually.

Hmmmm... I'll admit, you make a good case. But what about her strange relationship with Bert? I think that may bring Mary's cool-factor down a notch. On the other hand, the flying umbrella's pretty neat.

Wow, that's a tough one. I'm leaning toward Mary; I believe Jo can solve any problem put before her, meawning she doesn't sound wimpy like Alice.

I tried to get Ohana for the 29th, no deal - so I'm sticking to 1900. I doubt they'll dare complain - I'll be sure to pack my angry eyes that morning.
