TFW Meet 2008 The Mission: Wiener Salad & Margaritas - Trip Report Links on Page 1

Yeah, yeah. HELP ME. :rotfl2:

Uhhhh.... what Janet said! :thumbsup2

I'm in CROC heaven and Wiener Hell....

Found a CROCS store. Sure they're prices are more than shoebuy, but I just tried on everything there. The Capri's are still my favorite! :lovestruc They did have a really cool design kinda like the Cleo, but it criss crosses at the instep. Very cute. TE almost bought those but ended up with a pair of Canvas Capri's in a cute black & white pattern.
Came home and ordered Andy a pair of Yukons and Maddie 2 pair of scutes. Shoebuy has a coupon right now for 20% off. SUMMER08. :teeth:

So last night I dreamt we were at Biergarten and all they had were these HUGE sausage that looked like giant bologna's. EWWWWW!!! I was so grossed out! I kept walking around the buffet trying to find something to eat, but it was weenies, all the time!! :scared: No more late night vino for me! :headache:

I think it gets held up in Frontierland because the parade comes out through the gate up there by Splash Mt. I vaguely remember sitting on the train for a while at Main Street once...I could be way off, though.

You're correct Kate. It gets held up, IF you happen to be on right as they are exiting the area back there into Frontierland. As the others said though, it's possible this isn't an issue as they may change it for the bridge work.
OK.

Talking with the boys today, they both now want to hit DHS on the first day.

I really think this is a slightly better plan (it's not rope drop, but...) because we may NOT be up for anything after TL and yet it was my only time hitting DHS. Seeing the Power Rangers are a big deal, and I don't know if they'll be at DHS later in the day. Also, they've now seen video of their friends doing the Jedi training and if we could catch that in the daytime...

With this plan, we MAY go to MK in the evening after TL, but if we don't we still have one whole day and one rope drop to 4:00ish day there - no biggie if we don't go. Except that I can't believe we won't see MK until the 4th day then. :sad1: I love MK.

So, we'll hit WDW by noonish, (I think the flight gets in slightly before 11:00) check in or at least leave the bags, and head to DHS. I like to start with MK, but... This is supposed to be a little bit for them, too, right? :rotfl:

Now, I need more advice.

I have an early dinner ADR for Chef Mickey's on arrival day, thinking we'd be at MK.

On our DHS day, I had a "normal" dinner time ADR for Sci Fi - just a throwaway that I thought the kids might like, but nothing I'm desperate about.

SOOO...

Should I keep the ADR for Chef M's? Even if we'll be at DHS? Should I move Sci Fi (or anything else in DHS that kids enjoy - I'm up for anything, people!) to that night and try for CM's after TL? Or try for Ohana? :rolleyes1 Should I forget a park that night at all and book the kids into Simba's and D & I hit DTD? Or the Poly? :rotfl:

The only reason I'd want to keep the CM (or move it to the post-TL time) is because it's the only Mickey meal we'd have. We have CP later on with Janet, but that's not Mickey. My Buzz likes him some Mickey.

HEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.
OK. First, don't cancel Chef Mickey's until you are 100% SURE what you want to do. I can't get a ressie there for the ENTIRE 4 days we're visiting. They're booked solid. Second, I say do Sci Fi if you're NOT going back to that park during your visit. The kids will LOVE it. They are the perfect age for this.
You HAVE to get to TS Mania EARLY to get on the ride. Seriously. Don't even think about doing Stand-by. The three times we attempted it, it was over 2 hrs!!! I say, call and find out if you can get ANY time at Chef Mickey's during your trip. Make an ADR for whatever night you can get, if you have your heart set on dinner. Breakfast is my favorite there, though. If nothing is open, then start working out how to get OUT of DHS during the afternoon for your ressie with Mickey. I think DHS is only a half day with little ones anyway!
As for your evening with D....put the kids in the Simba club and go out! Boma is very romantic. If not, I HIGHLY recommend Artist Point or Narcoossee's.
Hope I helped. And FWIW, G-luv is right. It takes a while to go out of DHS and to CM's. Plan accordingly. Buses are NOT every 20 mins.....more like every 40.

Came home and ordered Andy a pair of Yukons
What's a Yukon?

WTH? My post was gone?? Anyway...

Did TE find that the canvas capri's were kind of "loose"...S'late warned me a while back and she was right...I feel like they're almost too wide and I have to pay attention so I can keep them on my feet...

I need a new pair of capri's myself...mine are getting pretty beat up.

Did you see the high end Croc's that are like $125/pair!?!?! YIKES!!

You're disturbed. Deeply.

I only have those kind of sick/scary dreams if I have chocolate before bed!!

As for your evening with D....put the kids in the Simba club and go out! Boma is very romantic.

I love Boma, but if you're going for romantic, maybe Jiko? :confused3 Boma can tend to get loud I think...

Speaking of Boma, has anyone tried that Zebra Dome fake-out recipe? I'm dying to try it but keep forgetting to pick up Kahlua:sad2:

I shouldn't even be talking about desserts...Hey Mel - I made those little orange cheesecake things last night...recipe makes 24 mini-cheesecakes.

There's only 3 left in my fridge...:sad2: soon to be 2...:rolleyes1

If not, I HIGHLY recommend Artist Point or Narcoossee's.

Mmmmm....Narcoossee's...my favorite!!:thumbsup2

What's a Yukon?

Yeah, yeah...what's a Yukon? I was just on the Croc's website in the last couple of days...don't recall...Hmmmmm....:surfweb:

I am DYING HERE V!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

IN NON FUZZY COUNTDOWN TIME MY TICKER SAYS EXACTLY 1 MONTH

 This time, right now, one month from now, I'll be on my oceanfront balcony at VB listening to the ocean, adult beverage in hand...:cloud9:

I'm soooo excited to see you all next month!! BUT I'm dreading the heat...it was killer hot/humid up here today with those storms...I kept thinking man, we're gonna freakin' DIE in August...

Maybe water parks every day??

OK So I have a burning question for you all.... What should I drink at Beirgarten??? I am not much of a beer drinker and I love me some chardonnay....any suggestions???

Kat: Try the 2 Princes Reisling or the Sarstein Reisling. One was sweet and one was dryer like a Pinot. Not as dry as Chardonnay, as they aren't "oaked."

I prefer a red, and unfortunately they don't have one in Germany that I'm passionate about....

I'm not a beer drinker, so I feel ya. It's not the *best* pavillion if you're a drinker.....
Good thing they have all those weiners to lure the customers in....
MEL

What's a Yukon?
Behold! The CROCs Yukon:

BTW, did you warn them that if they see me at CP not to get in my way of the puffy french toast. I would hate to see a cross border incident over the puffy goodness.:rolleyes1

Reading this page has been like watching a tennis match! :rotfl2:

They have the wine cellar that you can purchase from and then bring into the restaurant, that's what Murph did.

OH and did I see you are going to the BD? YUMMO! I'm a bit jealous!

Ok, is anyone doing Fantasmic on Sunday (aug 24)? We have an ADR for Prime Time that night at 6 pm....we're thinking of changing it to Brown Derby or Sci Fi and then doing Fantasmic. Wondered who I can stalk....

SPILL, SISTER! popcorn::
Sorry. Can't. Wouldn't be prudent. ;) But I'll say this: it has something to do with my "surprise." And you'll be glad I didn't tell you in advance and ruin the fun. ;)

But did the huge sausages chase you with an ax?:rotfl2:
:lmao: BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone heard from S'Late? I e-mailed her last week but haven't heard back
Yep, we "talked" via email last week or the week before... she's INSANELY busy. But she's super excited about Aug. coming so soon! :yay:

Well, I did it. I started packing. Not much, just some things we won't be using until the trip: an air mattress for Leo (I'm OVER sharing a bed and I don't want to have to keep putting the sofa bed away.), air pump, folding stool so he can reach the sink, and two compression bags stuffed with our down comforters and sheets for Leo's bed. Oh, and some T-shirts leo won't be wearing before then.

I don't have a ticker, but as of today, I'm at the ONE MONTH mark!!! :woohoo:
