End of day 3
Last episode left our family heading to Epcot... we get there and decide to get fastpasses to Soarin'-- they were already gone and the wait was 120 min. Wow... I didn't even know those little electric time boards could go that high! We ride Mission Space. I did once... and did fine until after the ride I realize how they make us feel like we are "taking off". Oh. They spin you really really really fast. Suddenly I'm feeling a little icky. My kids go ride it again while I sit and recover from my revelation. My DH was smart enough to sit the first time out!
Some nice family on their way out of the park gave us five fast passes to Test Track! Yeah! Because the standby wait is around 60 min. and the ride seems to be breaking down a few times. My DH and I sat on a bench between MSpace and TestTrack and we would notice that we would stop hearing the cars on the outside track spinning by every once in a while.
Our ADR for the place in Mexico was for 8pm. We make a plan. My kids and I would run use our fastpasses for Test Track and DH would go check in at the restaurant. We are in line for TT and guess what ...the ride goes down. We hang in there thinking we have plenty of time. It is only 7:30. Everything starts back up and we make it onto the ride about 7:45. Guess what, the ride goes down while we are on it. At least we don't have to be rescued like the first time we rode it a few years ago! We make it to dinner about 8:20 and our pager goes off for a table just as my kids and I spot my DH sitting patiently waiting for us.
Our meal was good. We eat all kinds of mexican and tex-mex food at home, so we should of done something different for dinner. We had a crazy girl waitress, who gave us great service, but I was thinking maybe she had a few too many margaritas? She was just very, very happy
We head back to our room and dive into bed. Getting lots of beauty sleep for our last day at Disney before heading to Universal on Day 5.
Day Four
Today we hit the highlights of our favorites. We go to MGM for Tower of Terror and eat AGAIN at Primetime cafe. Everyone was craving their fried chicken and those big, huge Dad's sundaes. We hid all of our freaky colored green beans in our napkin and left it on the table when we left. She was bugging us to eat them all during lunch and was so proud of us when everyone completely cleaned their plate! Does anybody else think those green beans are just a little too bright green?
After MGM we head over to MK to make the rounds on our favorite rides there.
For dinner we had ADR's for Whispering Canyon. We had a great meal there! We sat in the main dining area and had a fun waitress. We got into the spirit of the place and my kids even did the pony races, along with some other teenagers. My DH asked for too many iced tea refills, so you know what that means! Out she comes with a HUGE glass of tea and supersized straw.
We end up the day at MK AGAIN! Staying until everything closed down after 11pm.
Day 5
Sadly we pack our bags and check out of the Swan. We head over to Hard Rock Hotel to check in and get our hotel key for the "Front of the line" access. We went to universal and I of A for our kids. They had a good time there.... but not a "disney" good time. It was more like going to SixFlags. The hotel was fine. It seemed loud and had lots of kids running around. I had a bit of an attitude because, well, you know, it wasn't Disney.
Front of the line access is super great, tho. That makes those parks easy to do in a day and a half.
Day 6
Oh no... we have to go home today. We spent half of the day at Universal and then decide to leave. We go to Downtown disney (just had to get back on the disney property for one last time) until our plane leaves. We shop, trade pins, buy pins and eat at Earl of Sandwich. Then we find out that our plane is delayed (Thank goodness for AA's flight notification service). We were kept posted on our departure time and just continued to shop and trade pins until we just HAD to leave to make the flight on time. The delay in departure gave us about three more hours in Disney! Yeah!
All in all, we had a really great time. We have so many wonderful memories from all of our trips to WDW. It was much different this time around because our kids were older. However, they had a great time and can't wait to go back and pin-trade!
The Best of the trip
-EE being open for spring break
-pin trading
-fun dining experiences at Primetime, Whis. Canyon
-fastpasses!
The worst
-not getting to do Soarin'
-Test Track breaking down
-running into all these vomiting people (I spared you the stories... be glad)
-not having a fastpass and having to wait
-having to go back to the real world on Saturday.
My DS summed it up best.... after arriving at the airport in Dallas on Sat. night, we were sitting on our luggage waiting for DH to bring the car around. He said "I'm so sad that the airport bus doesn't say MAGIC KINGDOM on it." I guess we are back to the real world...
