I have a question for Texans...Do you like the food at San Angel Inn?
We lived in TX many years and loved, loved, loved, Mexican(tex-mex) food. We really miss it now that we are living overseas. When we visit the USA we eat as much Mexican as we can. I'm planning our ADRs, should we eat at San Angel Inn?

TIA!

Katy,

San Angel Inn is real mexican food, not tex-mex. We lived in Texas many years, we love tex-mex, but we also enjoy authentic mexican food. The call will have to be yours, but we enjoy all different regions of mexican food. Just depends on how your palate is.

San Angel is not Tex-Mex. It's Mexico Mexican food and very good. You may enjoy it. :)

I am from Austin, previously San Antonio. I love Tex-Mex, "real" Mexican, and my abuela's home cooking--a little bit of both! While I've never eaten at San Angel's table service, the counter service was the WORST meal I had during my whole trip! I was so disappointed that I won't try the TS. Maybe you should try the CS and see what you think first...

We don't like the food at San Angel. Just not our cup of tea. Have you checked out the menu??

I have checked out the menu and I think there are several things we would like. I do like real Mexican food too. We will probably try it. Honestly, probably even not very good mexican will taste good to us since we don't have it very often now. Thanks for your help!

I found it to be unimpressive--not bad, just not impressive. I agree with the above poster who said their counter service was awful.

I've never been impressed with the counter service (except for the margaritas :thumbsup2 ), but we LOVE the table service restaurant. It seems that every trip we try and plan to eat at new places, but we always wind up having a lunch or dinner at San Angel Inn anyway because we like it so much.

I love Tex-Mex food and I was hungry for some good "mexican" food so I decided to try San Angel. BIG MISTAKE - it just made me even more hungry for Tex-Mex food. I would not recommend the food if you are a big Tex-Mex fan. However, the drinks were fine.

My DBIL and his DW eat there when they go to Epcot and they really enjoy it. I've never eaten there. However, I did see one of their offerings is chile in Nogales. I have had this dish elsewhere and thought it was fantastic, so hopefully theirs is good.
