I'm looking in to buying a new pair of shoes for my April trip to WDW. I've read so many positive things about Tevas, but I'm nervous about buying them (I have wide feet, and I always have a hard time buying shoes). If you have a personal experience with Tevas, please post them here. Please convince me to buy (or not buy) these shoes!

I bought a pair for our August trip and they were very comfy. I also suggest that you go try them on.

I have heard that CROCS are great for walking round WDW

(I am looking to buy some CROCS for my Feb 2006 trip)

My neighbour had some Teva sandals, but his 2 dogs chewed them up, so he never got to "wear them in". He didn't bother replacing them.

These are Merrell Bahia. They are so comfy. I love them.

I have a wide left foot and nothing fits it. However, these are great. Very cushiony and they feel great. They sell for about $49 on-line or you can get a deal on eBay.

On recommendations from people on this forum, I bought Tevas for my March trip. They are absolutely wonderful! I have never had a shoe feel so good on my feet. I am now looking at ordering a couple more pairs of Tevas.

I have bought every kind of walking/running shoe to wear while in WDW. Every pair causes blisters on my toes because they are to narrow. I bought a pair of Tevas after hearing about them on this sight. They are the best!! I wear them most of the time I'm In Disney and have never had any problems.

I have very high arches and always have problems with my feet and legs at Disney. On our last trip, I decided to give Tevas a try. I was in the parks for 5 days and didn't have any pain in my feet or my legs. They were wonderful. My only advice is to break them in before you go. They will actually conform to the shape of your feet and become more comfortable.

I am almost embaressed  to say that my husband has the same pair of TEVAS from 8 years ago and that is all he wears ALL summer long ( without socks thankgod ! )

He absolutely loves them, I have a pair and find them comfy but I am a flip-flop girl myself.

We love our Tevas! I learned about them here on the boards last year and bought myself a pair. After my DH saw them he also wanted some.

We are on our second summer with our Tevas and they are so comfortable. I even walked 5 miles on the treadmill with them on a couple of nights ago.

Def. go to a shoe store in person and try them on for yourself if you've never worn a pair. I love the Teva Mush flip flops and wear them in the parks, no problems. I bought a pair of the sports sandals - sorry I can't remember the name of the style, but they were not the cheapest ones- at DSW shoe store (on sale, great price!) and they are comfy with a sueded footbed and support with the straps... but I love my flops more. I have an "average" foot and bought 7W which fits. My dd needs a wide and couldn't fit in this particular pair.

If u have wide feet it is worth trying on both the womens and the mens styles as the mens styles are cut a little wider. My gf has wider feet then i and needed to get a mens style in her tevas. But they are so comfy.

Many of the Tevas I can't wear because my foot is a little wider than average. However, the Teva Niyati have been with me on the past four WDW trips, and they are the most comfortable shoe that I own; I have three pair of the same style. I would highly recommed these.

Also, I wear Keen Antigua's a lot, and they are just as comfortable, but not quite as much arch support as the Niyati.

Laurajean - I love the look of Merrell Bahia, I might have to look into those!

Yardbird,

I have two pairs of the Teva Niyati -- they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!!!!

YAY! I love my Tevas!

I did my research on which Tevas are the most comfy, best walking shoes before I bought them and I went to stores to try the on.

I ended up buying the Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandal. I LOVE them. No more blisters. They are not 100% water proof but so comfy. They just take a little longer to dry then the nylon ones. So last summer, I bought the nylon ones for raining days at Disney. LOVE them too!

I bring both now and take turns wearing them.

I also have a pair of Teva flip flops and they are like walking on clouds BUT after a day at the parks, I switched to them and started to get a blister on my baby toe. I'm just not a flip flop person for lots of walking but they are good around the pool.

Good luck!

I also have a pair of Teva flip flops

the mush ones? is that what they are called? no one carries those locally, but I thinking about ordering a pair online. I have a pair of pretty ruggeds that I  and I'd really like to try the flips. Do they have the same feel as the sandals?

Yes, they are the mush ones. No, they are not made of the same stuff as the pretty rugged. They are more soft and foamy but very comfy. I just wouldn't wear them all day at Disney. I'm not a big flip flop, lots of walking kind of gal.

Are you near an LLBean store? They now have the Teva Mush marked down to 10.00 with 30% off! You can't beat 7.00 for this shoe. They are so soft. These I haven't worn to the parks but do wear them shopping, etc., and find them very comfortable.

Tevas are like sneakers. You have to try them for yourself in the store and see if they are comfortable for you. People love them. My DH and I didnt find them comfortable enough to buy for WDW. I really siggest you take a day and go to the mall and try on everything.
