Teva experts????

I have the Pretty Rugged Nylon...got them several years ago for $50. They are SO comfortable. It's basically all I wear to WDW anymore.

I have Teva's, and I love them.

That being said, I wear good running shoes in the park.

Teva's don't supply enough support for me if I'm on my feet for 14 hours.

I also find that the straps tend to irritate me if I walk all day in them when it's hot.

They're great for the water parks though.

I've got a glowing recommendation for a Teva product that is not a sandal. I orginally got them to wear for one of my favorite freetime activities (hint: see my username). They are so comfortable and and I like them so much that I have already ordered another pair to store for when these wear out.

They are called the Teva Gamma Water Sports shoe. Like I said, I originally got them to wear while kayaking and canoeing. You really need more protection while doing that than a sandal can offer. The first time I put them on I said, "I'm wearing these to Blizzard Beach this year." After wearing them a few more times, now I'm of the thought that I will wear them to all of the parks that have water rides. They offer whole foot protection and as an added bonus they hide my toes (which aren't the prettiest things in the world after all of the hours crammed in the end of a little boat). Heck, last week, I wore the Teva's to work one day with black socks on, and nobody wondered why I was wearing water shoes. They passed for regular sneakers.

Sierra Trading Post has them on clearance right now, marked down from $60 to $34.95. Here are the links:

PS: If you really want to stay with traditional sports sandals, I have never found any better than those made by Merrell. I have two pairs of Merrell sandals and have had 5-6 pairs of regular shoes and boots made by Merrell.

I want to get a pare of the pretty rugged nylon, but am concerned about the textured insoles. Where did you find the ones with the faux suede insoles?

The textured insoles kill my feet which is why I wear the leather ones. I'd go to the Teva website and look at the different styles and pick one without a texture or the faux suede insole. I think it's worth the slower drying time for the leather personally unless you can find a nylon without the texture.

Yes, they kill my feet too. That's why even though everyone here on the boards raved about the Straprunner sandals, I couldn't stand them! I ended up throwing them away!

But the Pretty Rugged Nylon testure is very soft and not noticable. I switch between my leather and nylon and I've never had a problem with the texture on the nylon Pretty Ruggeds...

I suggest trying on the sandals before you buy them. It makes a big difference.

Good luck!

I agree, the texture for the Pretty Rugged Nylon is soft and not noticable. I've never had a problem with them....and my feet are pretty sensitive to texture.

Got my Teva's (leather) back in 2000 for a trip to DW, I don't fine them that great. I expected much more in the comfort department so I was willing to give some in the looks department. Good walking shoes are much better. Having said that I suppose I will take them along on the trip and use them at AK because of Kali. I hate wet T-shoes.
