Is there anyplace in Boston that gives free tetnus shots? I cut my finger on a rusty can and am a little afaird. Do you think I need a shot? It was on a can of tomato sauce that I was rinsing out when I cut my finger.

If you've had one within the last 10 years you should be okay.

I doubt you can get it for free, but I would suggest if you have not had one in last 5-10 years or so.

Go get a shot now. Dh had tetanus and
gas gangrene from a punture wound in
1983. He almost died. We found out then
that the medical "experts" have no idea
really how long a shot covers you-the 10
year thing is just their best guess. Watch
your cut carefully, mostly puncture wounds
are the culprits though and tetanus isn't
usually on household items-unless your
household has a dirt floor and is shared
with the farm animals. DH got his while
running on the edge of a newly fertilized
field, he twisted his ankle in a hole and
was punctured by an old corn stalk that
was embedded in his calf muscle.

go get a shot no matter how much it is. We tend to take money to go to DW and do other things, do the most important thing for yourself, GO GET A SHOT! :D

Tetanus is a State Supplied Vaccine in MA and the shot would be free. Go to a walk in clinic. The problem is that you may get charged for the to be seen.
