Robert Redford was born August 18, 1937, in Santa Monica, California. He grew up in a family with strong values, and very little money. Robert attended the University of Colorado on a baseball scholarship, But struggled in his studies at the university and eventually lost interest even in baseball. He turned to alcohol and his heavy drinking got him kicked off the baseball team and ultimately out of the university.
Robert left for Europe to pursue an art career, but he found his progress was too gradual to suit his restless ambition, and he returned home.


In 1958, he met and married Lola Jean Van Wagenen., him and his wife moved to New York to study theatrical design, but soon moved on to acting. During this Robert decided to quit drinking. He took acting lessons at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Redford got his first break in 1956 on the TV drama show "Playhouse 90". A few years later he played a small role in a 1959 Brodway production of Tall Story. With his blonde hair and blue eyes, Redford was seen as an american sex symbol.

Many years later he played in Neil SImon's "Barefoot in the Park" on Broadway. His acting reviews on stage earned him several more pictures, and in 1967 he played opposite Jane Fonda in the film version of "Barefoot in the Park". Later his other performances, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Downhill Racer, Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here, The Sting, The Way We Were, All the President's Men, and the hit movie, The Electric Horseman, this made him finish out the decade as one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.

Redford went on to direct the film, "Ordinary People", he won the Academy Award for Best Director. He has also appeared in, The Natural, Out of Africa, Indecent Proposal, Up Close and Personal, and The Horse Whisperer.



Tyson Beckford was born on December 19, 1971 in New York City. His father is Jamaican and his mother is Chinese-American. Tyson grew up in Jamaica and in Rochester New York. He was involved in gangs, drugs and theft when he was a teenager. In 1991 is when an editor from a hip-hop magazine "The Source" scouted him.

Tyson was then hooked up with a New York agency and within months was before the lenses of Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber. Weber brought Tyson to Ralph Lauren and then began modeling for the company's sport, fragrance and body lines. By 1995, Tyson was on the covers of major magazines such as Paper and Essence and multiple-page spreads in Vogue, GQ, the New York Times and Details.

Tyson recently wanted to start acting and has began taking acting lessons, but he's still strutting the runways, working on a new exercise video and posing for a series of calendars.
