Test Track Single Rider or Fast Pass Plus

Hi all,

I have tried to find the answer to this but haven't been able to get information from anyone with recent experience. DH and I plan to ride Test Track but have to go individually since one of us has to stay with DS who is too short to ride. Is there much difference between the line length of fast pass plus and the single rider line?

We just want to go as quickly as possible and have fast pass plus reserved for it but if we can just use the single rider just as quickly then we can use our fast pass for something else.

Thanks for the help!

I'd just do the single rider if you are fine with doing it without each other and save the fp+ to do soarin since you cannot choice both from the list. That way you can do both in one day.

When you ride with the FP you have to go into the room and design your car. You are held there for whatever time is alotted.

When you ride in the single rider line you have the option to just walk right past the design terminals. This has the potential for saving a fair amount of time.

Do the single rider and FP/SB lines merge at the design room?

We'll have 4 adults, a 6yo, and a 2yo next trip. Wondering if it would be possible for one adult and 6yo to have FP and another adult go through single rider, but meet up before boarding. (So we can split our FP between TT and Soarin', since we'll have to baby swap with the 2yo.)

The single rider line goes directly to the CM loading the ride. You would not be able to meet up. If you are in the single rider line you need to count on riding alone.

I am a local with an AP. I do Epcot every Thursday. I use my tier one Fp on Soarin' and at RD I head for TT. I use the single rider line and I always walk straight on to the ride. No wait.

I think it depends on what time you are trying to go. If you are going early in the morning single rider is basically a walk on, at least it was for me this past trip and later on in the afternoon you might have to wait a little bit but I think either shouldn't take any longer than 10-15 mins.

We were at EPCOT last week and my son road TT 4 times in just about 50 minutes (including the time to walk back to where my wife and I were sitting to ask if he could ride again) by using the single rider line. I think that was the best part of the trip for him.

OP thanks for starting this thread. I was wondering the same thing myself. Great info everyone. Thanks I think we'll do TT at rope drop together and do the design thing then do it a couple more times single rider.

I agree with the earlier posts. Test Track single rider is usually quiet, especially early in the morning. I don't show up for rope drop, but even in the first hour or so, its often a walk-up or just a few minutes.

There are design stations in the single rider line, but you only get to pick a few things out. If you miss the more extensive design experience, there are three design stations as you exit towards the showroom. You can do a full design there, then use it the next time you ride.

Thank you so much for the help! I will switch out fast passes out then to Living with the Land (gasp!) :) It's the only tier 1 ride that DS can go on and this will work out better. DH and I are skipping Soarin this time but wanted to go on Test Track since we have not been since it has been redesigned.

My strategy is to FP Soarin' and go on the single rider line at Test Track. Soarin' does not have a single rider's line.

Just a word of warning....when I was there in September they did not open the single rider line until 20 minutes after the ride opened. I don't know if they do this often. I was able to ride in the regular line and by the time I came out I was able to go right in the single rider line.

I am pretty sure the status of the single rider line depends on the length of the regular line. If the regular line has little/no wait, it really doesn't make sense to have the single rider line.

True. I just didn't want anyone to get caught by surprise if this happened to them. Also, I was told a specific time that it would open when I arrived right at openning so they had a plan before the guests even arrived.

Good point. I would think though for most rides the single rider line wouldn't be open right away though for that reason. Though I think rides like that it will very shortly after open.

Why would you not just use the child swap? Your situation is exactly what its designed for. DH and I did it last trip. DH booked a FP for him and both our bigger kids and they all three went. I stayed back with our youngest. Then I road with both kids again with the slip we were given at the check in line for FP. There was not scanning of bands the 2nd time around.

I wouldn't waste your tier 1 FP on Living with the Land. I don't remember if you said your dates, but I don't think I've ever seen it with a wait. You could use child swap like the PP said. One of you FP TT and the other FP Soarin, and the one who waits can use the child swap pass to go through the FP line of each ride. We used child swap a lot on our trip last month and had no problems with it.

Thanks for the info about the single rider line not being open first thing! We will definitely keep that in mind.

I don't see how child swap will do anything for us except extend our return window. I know they say you can get one fast pass and use it for rider swap instead of using two fast passes but there are only a few height requirement rides we really want to ride so we plan on both getting fast passes for those in case the CM is more strict. We don't have any other kids that would want to ride a second time or anything like that.

I have seen it have a longer line in the past (40 min, for example) but of course we always went during high season like during the summer and this is our first time going during a lower season. We don't want to split up a lot throughout the day so we're only riding a few rides with height requirements so there is only one ride for tier 1 that we can all ride together.
