Test Track Single Rider & FP Lines

I know the policy has changed a bit on this since TT 2.0 launched. For anyone that has been to Epcot recently, what is the latest and greatest on whether FP and/or Single riders get to design their cars along with everyone else?

Single rider=no.
FP=yes.

Single rider is definitely the way to get on this if you have to FP Soarin. I always scan my band anyway and it gives me a stock car.

If you want to design the car, there is the design room to do so even with the single rider line. However, since the door to the queue is open, most people walk past the design stations and straight to the ride.

For the FP+ and stanyby lines, the lines are merge before the design room. You have 5 minutes to design your car before the door opens to the ride queue.

Last year we did both FP and single rider. I distinctly remember not getting to design a car in the single rider line. I think you did something so you get sort of a standard car, but no where near the customization that you get with the other lines. Did we just miss it??? I honestly didn't think it was offered to single riders!

If you want to design a car while going single rider - and the design part is more fun for me than the ride - there's a couple of kiosks in the post-ride area where you can create the design, taking as long as you want, then don't do *any* design when you go through the line. When you reach the boarding area, touching your band will load the car you designed.
This, by the way, is one of the very few things where something is associated directly with the magic band itself, rather than with the associated MDX account. If you design different cars with different bands, you can keep them both separate. The design is associated with the RFID number itself. (You may be able to design cars using *anything* that's RFID, but I haven't tested that theory yet.)
