Test Track Rumor

Has anyone else read online the rumor floating around that Test Track could be closed for up to 6 months for a refurb starting Jan. 2012? I read this somewhere else, cant remember where though. Looking for some validity perhaps or even if anyone else has just heard the rumor.

I would like to know this too. I really hope NOT. It is DH's favorite attraction. If they do close, I probably will have to think about telling him as it could affect the future of my trip

I've heard it might be either changed into a Cars themed ride or a ride that focuses less on testing and more on design.

I really hope they refurb it. Firstly the engine noises sound like their from a '78 Corvette. Secondly they make a big deal about ABS brakes. ABS breaks were legally mandated in 2001 I believe. I enjoy the ride, but it's very dated.

It also doesn't sound or feel like real ABS brakes when they are simulating the effect of them. I didn't really notice until I started driving, but now it bothers me. Someone who had ridden Test Track and not had anything with the ABS test could be easily surprised the first time they have the ABS start when they're driving.

I have heard alot of different things about Test Track, the only common thing is the 6 month closing. I really like Test Track, I hope that whatever they do, they improve it and not destroy it. (Like Figment).

My kids are going to be so disappointed. Definitely one of their favorite rides. I can honestly see them not wanting to spend a WHOLE lot of time in Epcot. They like other things there, for sure, esp. Soarin, but TT is the biggie for them. Guess when their Granny comes up for a visit (from her winter home in Ft. Myers), the adults will be heading out for some Epcot time!

I second or third that!!!! I want the IndySpeedway to be changed into a Cars ride...come on, ya'll know that ride is old and boring.

Just wondering what the rope drop rush to Soarin' will be like now!

I don't think it will be rethemed to cars anytime soon. I think the chance of there being a cars land is a much better chance at this point, but I doubt that won't even be an option for quite some time (think 4-5 years)

Really hope they dont make it Cars theme. Love that movie, but not for that ride. And I love all the hidden Mickeys on that ride!! Maybe they will add some new ones!
