Have you heard? A re-imagined Test Track presented by Chevrolet will debut at Epcot this fall. The new version will allow Guests to design and test-drive their own custom vehicles!

Love Test Track but fed up on it breaking down so looking forward to this :goodvibes

so instead of giving back money to the bondholders who were cheated, GM is handing money over to disney...
lovely..

I hope its still open in August when we go :goodvibes

Do you think that before GM went under they handed money to Disney for fun? It's part of their business plan and advertising scheme. Tax payers' money isn't being "wasted".

What dates is it closing?

They don't seem to say anywhere that I can see. One person has stated in the comments below the article that it is from "mid May to late September" but they don't quote their source of information so I would wait for something a little more concrete to go on. It has not yet been noted on Allears so I assume they are still waiting for an official time scale estimate. We'll have to keep watching and keep each other posted. It is not likely to be open yet when we go but I think I will delay breaking the news to my daughter for now ...

Agreed, it does need a big makeover, so unreliable, but during MY holiday, tha'ts just rude;) Suppose that means that the queue for Soarin now will be even longer:scared1:

GM was bailed out by the US government...
the american taxpayers money at work, providing us with a new ride experience at disney...
You don't quite have your information right. While a large portion of the GM bailout. A large portion was also shouldered by Canadian Taxpayers. Close to ten billion iirc. The US did I believe contribute about five times the amount that Canada did, but the Canadian contribution should not go unnoticed.

I'm looking forward to this, I heard somewhere it was going to be Tron themed.:confused3

I'm waiting for an official closing and opening time too... I'm hoping it will re-open for us being there in September :thumbsup2

Think we'll be out there at the same time as you :thumbsup2

I am suprised...how are some of you happy about this. The ride is being destroyed. They are turning it into some cruddy sim ride. Ooo...ahhh..that was fun. Let's sit in a box and be shaken up instead of being in a real car on a real track driving really freaking fast. This is going to suck.
