Test Track closure...

I noticed on the Disney site calendar that it says Test Track is supposed to reopen 11/30. Is this a "for sure" date, or just an estimate? I mean, I get that nothing is for sure, but as of now, is that when Disney expects to open Test Track back up to the public?

Pretty sure that's just an estimate. I saw some people who were at that "What's New, What's Next?" presentation last week comment on Twitter that they just said "fall 2012" with no firm re-opening date as of yet.

Awwww! That's just heartbreaking. That is easily one of our favorite rides and I can't even imagine when we'd be able to go back to Disney again for years to come. I guess I'll see what they say as the time gets closer.. maybe we can push our dates out a little to try and catch it being open.

It's a very complex, computer controlled, ride mechanism and if they mess with it at all I would not make any bets on them being done by 11/30. It has to work perfectly and when it does fail it has to fail safely. Testing of this ride was why it was so late opening originally. The original software was so complex it had to be scrapped and re-written because the original version was not testable.

It's disappointing to us as well. My DS4 is finally tall enough to ride TT, and now it will be closed on our trip.

When we found out it would be closed during our fall trip this year (9/29-10/8) my partner wanted to cancel the trip! Haha. It'll be missed as it's one of our favorites to enjoy as a family. But no single ride is worth cancelling our trip over for us.

Agree that it's an estimate that can easily change. It said Sept 30th for a few hours one day and then switched to Nov 30th. At least it's stayed there for a bit! I've read that a refurb ending on the last day of the month increases the chance that it will not be done. We're hoping though -we're going to hit Epcot on the last day of our trip, Dec 1st or 2nd and keep our fingers crossed.
