Well, today I looked like an idiot. Rode TT, walked to the photo area, gave the CM the photo number...as I had done in other places. She brought the photo up..I okayed it and said terrific, I was all set. I held out my wrist so she could scan the MB.....no, I was all set to go she again said. I told her that the system didn't know who I was and that I had had my MB scanned previously. Well, after almost demanding that my MB be scanned, she told me that it was a brand new thing today.....you tap your MB when you design your car, and then when you get ready to ride.....instead of them giving you that white card. Soooo, I finally figured out that that's how the photo system knows who you are....duh. Man, I felt like an idiot.

It actually is probably using the long-range RFID on the MagicBand and should be available now at other rides also.

Beginning June 3 2014, select attractions will automatically link the on-ride guest photos to the My Disney Experience account of the rider. The attractions offering this will be:

Dinosaur
Expedition Everest
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Test Track
Rock n Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror

Didn't see the original title.

Sounds like a logical link with the new technology. It also seems to me that you wouldn't even need to actually scan your MB at the design scene. They could do this with the longer-range RFID transponder in the MB at the point they actually take the picture.

ETA: I see RogueKnits beat me to it. Good job!

So with this change, do we even have to stop a the photo desk or will it automatically be on our memory maker/mde?

Just as well you didn't see the title...evidently I can't spell Test correctly!
I'm interested to see how it all works this week...kind of cool. But it's a little concerning though. What's next? Mickey billing my room account for excessive toilet tissue usage?,

I am curious when they will be announcing FP+ for bathrooms. "Reserve your throne from your home!"

I've said this before....a standyby line and a fp+ line in the bathroom. :rotfl2:
Have to plan your beverage consumption around bathroom times.

I hope this works when I'm separated from some of my family. I feel so dumb, but I still don't totally "get" memory maker.

How does this work if Memory Maker is linked to me and DH and DS ride Test Track without me? I was planning to give DH the memory maker card to have the photo put on the card.... Thx.

If they have magic bands it will link automatically.

They'll use your magic band RFID motion detector to count the wipes. ;)

So, this news pushed me over the edge. I added Memory Maker to my account. Disney reached into my wallet again. Seems I can't stop them. It just sounds nice to have all of your ride photos waiting for you with absolutely no effort. Also, I don't have to be that guy taking a photo of my photo on the TV with my phone anymore. :)

I just hope it works properly and consistently by December.
