I have to say on my moms behalf, she is the opposite extreme. She dotes on her grandchildren. It would hurt my feelings to have a MIL treat my kids like that too.

any relative that gives their time to your kids, is a blessing.
they are worth their weight in gold.
better yet, they are priceless.

my kids gparents were never interested in getting to know them.
they have favorite grandchildren but my boys figured that out when they were young.
they met them on a few occassions so they are not close. that makes it easier for them as they really don't know them.
and being all males, they just blow off the gparents issues.
they say the jell with them...

I love to make egg noodles, just don't seem to have the time...I don't chill mine, I just let the dough sit rolled out on the counter before slicing them up...so you use chicken broth to cook your's in mac? that is what I do...yum...now I want some on this rainy day.

I guess I'm the grandparent who pouts because I CAN'T spend time with mine, they live too far away....... :guilty: I would love to be close to spoil them and get them away from the other evil grandparents...LOL.. :p J/K...DIL is fortunate that her grandparents watch the kids for them and help out...(but they are a little whacko :joker: )

Quick check in to my buddies:)

egg noodles, yum...I hang mine over the backs of my dining room chairs to dry.:goodvibes
mac - bizzare behavior by MIL, sorry...really stinks about the favortism to grandchildren too. Hope I manage to avoid that situation, although I get your point about them looming too late in life. Got a feeling I'll be more like 60 before any appear but, you never know.

Survived the wedding:yay: , DS almost cried in church. When he got teary-eye'd I was right behind him but, held it together. I did lose it after the dance w/my son. Things really sunk in then I & crawled off to a dark corner & DH who was taking pics to cry...next thing I knew the photographer was busily snapping away @ that Kodak moment...what was she thinking? Other than that it was fantastic, no major glitches other than the crash not wanting to roll down the aisle.

Will post pics as soon as I get to catch my breath.

Hope you all have a safe, blessed Christmas, enjoy!

first things first.......keisha, tell us you did not sit with SH at all.....

and that you were the hotsie momma there at the wedding....besides the bride.
hoping your ex ate his heart out.....

so glad it turned out lovely. now show us the pics...:thumbsup2

home made egg noodles........big production here.

i do the one egg and flour.
after it is all mixed thoroughly, i roll it in a ball....

let it sit.

roll is out flat in flour.
cut into strips.

lay on newspaper till it dries.
takes about 4 hours.

then, drop in chicken broth and boil.

it is the best.

can i clear a room or what......

want to hear more about the egg noodles that i can make?

for christmas, i am making burger king.
i get in the car drive through the drive thru and get food.

it's going to be a tradition......

i was so bored i googled tummy tucks and have been reading up on that.

you never know when i will find 10,ooo bucks........just want to be ready when i do...........:rotfl:

when the boards got upgraded, my smilies changed.

now i have to go to page 2 for my favorite one.

Just popped on to see if the boards were up and voila...I see my sista testers posting away!!

KS, SO glad the wedding went well, and so what if you cried, it's almost required:goodvibes Oh man, I'm feeling for you, Mom to Mom...but think that you gained a child, not lost one. Yes, take a deep breath, let it all sink in and then post some pics.........congrats MIL....and remember, we MIL's have a place, just know when to stay in it, and when you can venture an opinion...and you will be the favorite:cutie:

Mac, noodles schpoodles...yum, they sound good. Maybe next weekend I'll think about throwing some together. I guess I use 1/2 doz. eggs to my flour, I make big bunches..and I like them a little "tough"...KS, too funny hanging on the chair, great idea, thanks:thumbsup2

Pam, I knew you would be busy this weekend...hope all the family get togethers went well. Today was quiet around here. We had a nice dinner, just the 3 of us. I fixed prime rib roast and it was deelish...gave doggie his Christmas bath and he looks so cute.

Stockings are filled, presents under the tree. Looks pretty sparce for all the dough I dropped. But, hopefully ds will be happy with what I picked.

I so missed the board today to be able to wish everyone a Merry Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas Day! Glad its back up so I can do that...

Hi Ed, hope Santa stops by NH this evening on his fly-by.....

Hope the boys are nestled in their beds, waiting for Santa to drop down your chimney.......:thumbsup2

oh no, another chimmney story......

did i ever tell you maybe two years ago how my boys got stuck in the chimney.........

it's so embarrasing for police, EDSA and fire department to come out.

Merry Christmas from cold, rainy Memphis !! :cold: Got in here yesterday and OCM got to safely to DC.... :car: I'll let her tell you about waking me up at 3:00 a.m. before they left...:lmao:

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to you all this morning before chaos starts around here. Everyone here is still sleeping so I need to go start stirring things up......now where did I put that remote fart machine???

MERRY CHRISTMAS TESTERS!!!!!:santa:

Morning all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

We opened our santa gifts today and everyone seems to be very happy with what the big guy brought!! However, trent seemed to be the most excited...for him not believing anymore he sure did it up good:thumbsup2

anyway, gotta run...we need to leave in an hour and none of us have been in the shower yet!

Hope you all have a great day today!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL

So nice to see some of you stopping in....rather dank and dreary here also, and rather chilly...feels like a Christmas day though

We got up around 7, did gifts and then started breakfast. Very small crowd this year, part of our family is sick with flu, pink eye and whatever...good thing they stayed home...can't be spreading that good cheer.

I was TOTALLY surprised...dh and I don't exchange gifts as a rule, I always get him a little something, but I had seen a diamond pendant I liked (not real expensive, don't be thinking we're rich or anything:goodvibes ) and my dh bought it for me!...it is very pretty. DS gave us a gift card for a dinner cruise down in DC on a nifty boat, its dinner, the cruise through DC, entertainment and the like. So we can pick a time to do that. I'm thankful for my "men"....::yes::

Cleaned up kitchen, now will just relax til its time to head out for dinner. We will stop and see MIL and then go to SIL's for dinner.

Tony, glad you are enjoying your trip and are safe and sound in Memphis...

Pam, it is nice when the kids keep the "magic" alive...glad everyone is happy and enjoying

See ya later...enjoy the day my friends...love ya all

hope you all are having fun and behaving yourselves.......

looks like mic got a great surprise this morning.
she got a diamond!!

wow, lucky ducky.

i'm giving sons turns on my new computer. they like it so much i haven't been able to play on it.

been sitting around watching the christmas story over and over and over again since yesterday. it's getting kind of old now.

trying to find something fun to do now.

no one is playing tonight??

guess i will play around with my new computer and see what all it does.
i shouldn't really do that as that is when i get into trouble and screw programs up..........
