now mic, you know i would never post pics online:) gotta figure out how to use digital with no flash and at night to get the lights to show up though,, already have almost 1000 bulbs out and will probably get another 1000 tommorrow, should have the house lit and ready to put out the inflateables by this weekend, then we start on best friends house:)

LOL...I want to see this display...for sure!!!::yes:: You know, when we were out at Disneyland, I took a photo of the Electric Light Parade (I'll see if I have it online to post) with my digital, and it came out pretty good...(now you got me going to look for it...LOL) so maybe your house would show up too!!!

Don't call you the electric king do they???:p

Here is one I took, and I had no idea if it would work, but I just put my camera setting on nighttime....and took several, this is one of them....

We got to tour the Osborne lights several years ago at WDW...and can I just say that it was like a herd of buffalo shuffling through the neighborhood to see those darn things!!:D It was quite a spectacle, but really, it wasn't much fun walking through like that...about 30 people across, a gazillion deep, just moving all together like a sea of fish...LOL...but at least I can say I saw them:p It is not one of my fonder memories of WDW...and I've got some doozies over the years to remember..

imagine all those lights on 2 adjacent properties in a exclusive residential area :)

i have to run some errands for the next hour or so.
might not be back on, could be tuckered out when i get back.

if i don't see you later tonight, see you in the morning.

hoping pam and her team beat the snot out of the other team in volleyball tonight.

makes my lil 4000 to 10000 bulbs look slim:)

i always go all out for christmas, my light bill ussuially rivals the highest of the summer there are always over 500 ft of extention cording, and at least 2 or 3 hundred bad bulbs each year:)

but i wouldnt give them up:)

its like my gift to the nieghbors, most of them are older and dont get to decorate much, so they all claim my yard as t he nieghborhood showcase lots:) also helps that we own 2 of the largest lots in the area,, both of ours are 150 ft square instead of 50 by 150

bye-bye mac, see ya whenever...be careful while you are out...

Froggy, that is nice what you do and great you get some joy out of it..my SIL always does up a slam bang house/yard full of stuff...so I know how much work it is. As long as you enjoy it, that is all that matters.:D

I would love to put out more lights for Christmas but get this my house has no outside recepticals, I have to run an extension cord out of my garage just to light the front of the house.

And Froggy you may have to turn off the flash and set the camera on something to get a good photo a tripod if you have on.

I took this of the Spaceship earth by that method

Ed, we go through the same thing with outside lighting...hubby has to run extension cords out of the basement up to the porch...every year it is like a battle...to remember the secret of how we did it the year before....I do have the cord on a timer in the basement though, so once its set up, I don't have to worry with on/off times...I have like one recepticle on my front porch...but my house is 100 years old too...so any modern convenience outside is a feat in and of itself...LOL...here is a photo of the old girl...I will poof it....so look quick:p

ok ed i hadnt thought of using the tripod but i bet it does help,,, i'll try several as soon as i get them going,, am currently trying to get 8 strands of icicle lights operational, and non flashing ( the house we used threm on last yera wanted flashing bulbs,, yuck.) those will go along the top eve of the house across the front, and down one side, so far we have 700 clear bulbs out, 250 colored and three light form angels,, each of those has 50 bulbs,,,, thats not counting the actuall lighted candy canes not sure how many bulbs are in each of those,,lol,, i have 4 exterior receptivcles i put in the yard just for lighting:) then there are 2 around the pool i'll end up using most of the spaces in,, i have 6 ten ft three way cords , 3 15 ft three ways and about 500 ft of regular exterior cords, thats robbing 90%of the cords off my work traioler but i can handle it,, we also use three exterior 6 pl;ug power strips, and all of this is controlled by three gfi breakers on back portch next to meter:) i ussually take 2 to three weeks of set up before i finnally turn onthe complete display. we are the folks who redesign each yera so its always a new challenge:) the most chalenging to date was the yera i made a 30 ft light tree in the front yard complete with a 2 ft lighted star:)

you guys know its really hard to untangle christmas lights wen you are being assisted by a 15 lb long haired fuzzball?

shadow kitty thinks daddy is playing with really neat toys:)

he desided not to play anymore when a strand started flashing at him when he was batting at the ends,, i was changing out the flasher bulbs and had missed one:)

ok another 1000 bulbs are checked working a nd ready to staple up..... all i need now is a ladder and a staple gun and daylight:)

good morning all.
here's to another good day for everyone.

i am off to work at 7:10..............hoping to survive the day better than yesterday. The best part about subbing is a different class (usually) each time. when i close the classroom day at 2:38, i leave it all behind me.

This is the first year in many that i haven't started the school year off with a long term assignment. seems strange...........

what will the rest of you be doing today?

we know froggy is playing mr. osborne today with the lights.............he should take pics of his creation and post them for us. wouldn't that be grand!

waiting for the coffee man................super kewl pic of the coffee dispensers yesterday adam. i needed that.
