Outlaws are here now. We are opening our presents tongiht or tomorrow..not sure. Then, we have our Christmas, then my family comes down for the week. I am sad I am going to miss my aunts christmas eve...there are 110 people that are going to be there!!! SO, that night will be hard for me.

I know you will miss old traditions...but try and think of it that you are starting new traditions with your kids...and maybe next year you can be there....I understand TOTALLY though the "not being there" part...its hard to be away from family on Christmas...

Actually, for me, it is a break from the madness. No crisis' at work, no basketball practice or modeling class for DD, no waking the kiddies up for school at 6:00 am, no PTA meetings, no planning board meetings, no DJ gigs. I can't wait for Friday to arrive. Santa makes an appearance at a few houses in the neighborhood then he relaxes (with a cold beverage) until all of the other presents need delivering. On Saturday we wake up, open presents, eat kielbasi and ham (hey, it's OK, I'm Polish) then travel a grueling 10 minutes to my brothers house for a 1:30 PM dinner. Then it's back home to relax even more. Life is good!!!

I dont have to go anywhere all weekend! There are a lot of postives!!! Plus, I dont have to dress up if I dont want to!! YAY!

sounds like you all so far are going to have a great christmas.

we don't have family to go see or have over so we just hang out with those within our four walls at food time.

i go to burger king in the morning and buy breakfast sandwiches and cinnamon rolls. then whoever is up in the morning will open their presents, all eat as they get hungry for breakfast.

then in the afternoon i drive back to burger king and buy whoppers, bring it home and eat that for lunch. at this point the dh is upstairs watching tv and the kids are out with friends or on the computer or watching a dvd or playing a video.

then about 7 they get hungry again and i drive to burger king for more whoppers.

and thats about it. if it snows dh is out enjoying it either snow shoeing or skiing or rollar skiing or cat skiing. he really wants that snow!

this is pretty much our tradition. its like the other weekends but with presents and i don't cook.

in case you are wondering, burger king is the only place open in town during the holidays. thats why i go there.

mac, I do believe you are the smart one....taking it easy....not cooking and letting it be a fun day...to do as you please....

I will be looking for you at some point online to say ...so you better at least pop on once or twice...........although I know it will be afternoon before I get on here...I'm looking for a full morning....presents from Santa...preparing breakfast (although hubby does cooking, I'm on clean up detail and socializing)...then we adults will share gifts...then hubby has to leave for work...he is taking off 1/2 day so we can do our annual breakfast...then, I'll be ready for a nap........LOL....dinner will no doubt be around 4...yikes...I'm tired typing about it.........

Mac is that true everywhere or just in your town? I will cook breakfast, but I dont think i am cooking dinner

I am out tonight..going to see Oceans 12. Have a good night if I dont run into you tonight.

I guess we are opening gifts tomorrow!

yes, saturday will be a no cooking day for me, unless its something to heat in the microwave. down side is i will be the one to drive to the joint to get the burgers and i can't handle burger king that much. the rest of the family likes it. i have this strange feeling that someone else will get tired of burgers and i will have to throw some tuna together to make sandwiches, but that is it for cooking for me that day.

ocm: very good you get out tonight. are the outlaws babsitting? the kids will have fun and you will have fun.
mic: you bet i will be bopping on line to see how you all are doing. it will be a long day taking turns on the computer unless i can get the sons interested in watching the dvds and play ps2 games most of the day.
everyone should check in and let us know what their prized gift was.
then we can sit back and oh and ah with you.

guess the rest of you are out shopping or just relaxing. have a great evening. one son is hogging my G4 at home so at the library i am and boy is it dead here.
