Happy Valentines Day!

mic - so :sad2: to hear about your mom, scary stuff to deal with, hang in there:wizard:

shout out to the MIAs:wave2: ps lemons are less harsh on digestive system lol, taste just as good in a corona.

slo - while it's my happy anniversary:dance3: ; DH worked a double last night...expect to rouse him this afternoon; feed him a t-bone & baked potato, then shove him back out the door to do it all again...he's a keeper:thumbsup2

day 2 ocm strike, anyone try & cross the picket line yet?

mic - srs - yuck, they know it all:rolleyes1

Good morning, hope all of you in the frozen tundra regions are thawing out...I'm hearing it was pretty nasty back home...sun is shining brightly here this morning, still a little cool, but promises to be a stunner

Watching way too much of this Roger Clemens stuff...over anaylized to death of course, but I don't believe him after watching it..whole thing is overdone though and there are so many more important things to iron out

Sorry Slo your little one is feeling yucky, hope she soon feels better

How is the strike going Momma? Hope you win some of the battle, that is ridiculous for an adult to not pull some weight around the house:hug:

mac, you are one day closer to the weekend....:cool1: can't share your enthusiasm this week though, means we are another day closer to returning home

not much going on, just watching some tv......mac, remember My Little Margie? I watched one of those this morning

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

For those of you who celebrate it, anyway... ;)

I probably won't be around much until Tuesday. Today is my finish the housework, pack, get ready to go day.

Cross your fingers and anything else you can think of that we don't get rain in Daytona over the weekend. Can't race in the rain!

Have a good day!

Is anyone doing anything today or tonight?
We aren't :sad2:
But that's fine, we never do - the restaurants are way to crowded.
Plus.....this is my night to work until 7, so it'll be way to late to go anywhere.
That's okay - I don't mind at all:)

Katie, my 4yr old, is still under the weather:sick:
The daycare called me yesterday telling me that she had a fever:guilty:
Luckily, she goes to work with me today, so she can relax there :)

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Valentines Day slo!

Sorry your Katie bug is sick. Lots of pixie dust for her to feel better. :wizard: :wizard:

We don't do anything special today either. To much hassle.

I hope it warms up nicely for you! Enjoy your last few days.

Haven't watched any of the Roger Clemens stuff. I gave up on professional athletes a long time ago.

Happy Valentines Day Tricia!

I have everything I can possibly cross crossed for you!

I've got a non-poop-related story about my boys to share from this afternoon. Just so you know the players, Joshua is my 6 y/o and Daniel is my 2.5 y/o. Enjoy!

So, I was trying to get a shower this afternoon. I didn't take one this morning because I knew I was going to be cleaning the bathrooms, etc and I wanted to wait until all that was done. I don't want to smell like toilet bowl cleaner when I go to bed tonight.

Anyway, I set the boys up watching the new Garfield movie and I headed into the bathroom. I was in the shower, hair wet and lathered, when the first knock sounded on the door.

"MOM? MOM! Mffha smiffin smaffin boonka nooga wonka."

I can tell it is Joshua and I got that he was calling me, but after that, who knows what the kid said.

"Joshua, I can't hear you through the door. I'll be out in a minute."

"MOM? MOM! Mffha smiffin smaffin boonka nooga wonka."

Sigh. He's not giving up.

"Joshua, I can't hear you through the door. If it is important, open the door and tell me what you need."

Door opens.

"MOM? MOM! Do you know where the instruction book for Super Smash Brothers is? Daniel did something and my guy is getting killed all the time!"

His definition of important and my definition of important are clearly not in the same ballpark.

"Have you checked the box?"

"No."

"Why don't you start there."

Door slam. Stomping feet running away. Stomping feet returning.

"MOM? MOM! Mffha smiffin smaffin boonka nooga wonka."

Sigh.

"Open the door, Joshua. I can't hear you."

Door opens.

"MOM? MOM! Where is the box for Super Smash Brothers?"

I can't win.

I did forget to say Happy Valentine's Day in my morning post, so Happy Valentine's Day my friends...nothing special for us, but for the romantics among us, enjoy:goodvibes

It turned out to be a really awesome beach day....finished my book I was reading, took a nap and justs vegged in my chair...it is breezy this afternoon and nice to be sitting with doors open.

KS, sounds like your hubby will be getting a very fitting Valentine's/anniversary meal...steak is one of my favorites, so I envy him...happy anniversary...it is nice when we find a keeper isn't it...I guess after almost 35 years I should consider mine a keeper...LOL

Hope rain holds off for the Daytona...we will be heading home Sunday, so we hope for good traveling weather too...we fly from Ft. Myers to Orlando to Dulles...kinda long, but the price was right :thumbsup2 Our flight leaves at 6:40 a.m.... but we will be back on home turf by 12:30, so I'll have time to reaclimate to being home...then work on Monday...blech...but need to work so we can go away again come late May...

mic - another child bride;) ? nice to see a 1st marriage last (it was your 1st wasn't it:lmao: ? few of us birds have a few under our belts:rolleyes1 )

tbones were swell:banana: ; even in the frying pan...no way was i going to trudge all the way to the end of yard in a foot of snow to fire up the grill.

tricia - mario bros is VIP stuff...none of my family can beat me in the 1st game that came out/hours spent during divorce-cheap therapy...i decided to rest on my laurels & quit competing (can't begin to even hold my own in the mini games now-can't let them know that-they pounce on signs of weakness:laughing: ).

Happy Valentines Day

beach-heart.jpg

what an awesome picture:cloud9:

now that my computer seems to finally be running properly, i've reinstalled itunes...reminds me of the bob marley i've been jammin to mon...

i can see clearly now & no woman no cry:dance3:

finally a few minutes to myself.............i think, i hope....
if you have a family, then you know what i mean.

sweets, who won today?
i vote for you.
good luck in getting lee to do chores. when you figure out the secret, tell me and i'll put it to use then.

keisha, happy anniversary to you and mr.
how many years now do you have in?

are we supposed to count the 1st and 2nd marriages to determine how many years we have been married? i never could figure that one out.

never had steak in the pan but if you said it was delicious, then it was.
i still use the grill in the back yard. it is amazing how the snow melts around it so quickly when you fire it up.

i cook on the grill year round. it is great for pizza in the summer when you don't want your house heated up. it's like a big oven when you put the hood down over the grill. i have even cooked turkeys in it before.

tricia, hope you get off to an early start tomorrow. i know you will have fun. don't have too much fun or you will come back pregnant.

mic, time flies when you are on vacay.
i'm so glad you are having a great time in florida.
do you think you would ever relocate there in your life?

worked today and again tomorrow. had to stay after skool to finish up test scans on last period today.

went straight to the grocery store after work so dinner could be made later.

2 shifts have eaten now. waiting on 2 more then dishes.

going to ketchup now.
will be back.....

ed, you are so romantic......what did you give linda for vday?

pam, did you get anything too?

i'm getting a headache for vday.

Evening all...just getting back to read...did dinner, dishes and then watched BBrother online, as I didn't get to see either episode on TV...this sharing one TV with dh on vacation stinks...:goodvibes

mac, sometimes I think I'd like to spend cooler months down here, but then I see all these 'old' people and I think not:rotfl: I'm a senior citizen I guess by definition, but don't 'see' myself in that light;)

KS, yes, I've only been married once, so all those years are with the original model...if I ever traded him in, it would be for a much older geezer with a ton of money, me listed first in the will and perhaps a mysterious illness that takes him from me very soon.....then I will recall dh and we will live happily ever after in the life that I think I should be living....I've always said I think I am really of royal blood and I was stolen from my real parents when I was a baby:laughing:

I too use my grill all winter, although not so much this year for some reason...but I don't have to trudge thru the snow to get to it, it's right outside my kitchen door. Sometimes its damn cold out there though in the evening to cook on it. It is great in the summer though, keeps from getting the kitchen all hot and having to clean up a mess on the stove.

I have socks on this evening, so we have run the gamet of weather conditions here this week, although I doubt we will see ice or snow..:upsidedow

morning all...it's FRIDAY:banana:

mac - you're working triple time:laundy:

mic - stolen by monkees from your crib;) think i read that saga somewhere before:laughing: . Just think DH could be your boy-toy! Another one i've read in a romance novel or two...the unknown relative passing & leaving a bundle...ps, yeah for great beach days! did u remember to take a pic or 2 for those of us up in the frozen tundra?

ok...don't make me hollar, get outta bed the rest of yinz guys:banana:

tony, i need a word or two with you....
i overslept and got to work late.

gotta go, kids in the room.

morning homies...:yay:

Hey all :)

Quick pop-in -- work's going well, but it's cut into my on-line time. I've made a point of not going on-line during the work day and my days at home are pretty busy with the boys. Once the kids are in bed, I have been trying not to go on the computer, so I make sure I get all the other stuff around the house done.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)

Hi all....another stellar day in southwest Florida..just back from beach, showered up, ready to do NOTHING for the rest of the evening...one day left to enjoy life then back to the real world

KS, didn't even bring camera along this trip, we have been coming here for about 35 years now, and I figured I've snapped pics of anything that needed to be snapped in all those years.:goodvibes If I dig around at home, I can find a pic of the beach down here...I often think of dragging the boys along to the beach, with a ton of beach toys, chairs, towels, snacks, drinks, umbrella and whatever else you need with little ones. We used to come in late May, (for 3 weeks I might add, dh had good vacation with his old job and it was our big vacation every year,)and it was plenty hot at the beach...you felt like a dried out pototo chip once you got in the salt water and baked in the sun for a bit...but it is such wonderful memories, that is what makes this time of year so nice, just like today, the sun was very warm, but there was an awesome breeze that kept it nice at the beach and the evenings are cool...my grandmother was alive then, and we stayed with my Mom and every evening went over to GiGi's (that was her codename for great-grandma to the boys) and had dinner and swam in the pool that was part of her condo. She and my mom had moved into this place and my grandmother died not too long after. I find it hard to believe she has been gone for 16 years now...I was her favorite granddaughter:goodvibes This is a very expensive area with million dollar homes down by the beach, lots of condos and pricey boutique type shops...of course my mom is no where in those categories, but somehow ended up living here before the area went bonkers in price and cost of living. Look up Naples Florida on google and see how beautiful it is here. Lots of stars etc. have homes here, I think Judge Judy has a place, Larry Bird and many more, they all flock to the glorious scenery and of course pricey living. I doubt I could afford to live here.

Bob, I'm sure you are learning to balance all aspects of life out again not that you are back in the office, good luck! Stop by whenever you can...ya gotta have you're little taste of 'us' every couple days...:thumbsup2

what a great story:goodvibes ; luv the potato chip comparison:rotfl: . Guess your grandma & mom had an eye for both beauty & real estate!

officer jer's bud is moving back home, he was living down there "somewhere in the area" for the last few years as a high-end mechanic on fancy-dancy cars...said he just couldn't afford it anymore despite making probably double what he'll make back in Pittsburgh (i think he's homesick).
