Hi again - decided to be a bit lazier today......

Goofy got us up again - TRIED to get there for the start of Magic hours, but hey ho.... made it for 8.35 - less cars in the car park today - parked on row A1!!!!

Went straight for PETER PAN + rode twice so the kids could do each side - virtual walk on both times - HOORAY FOR EMH:cheer2: Then over to Buzz + did that twice too (kids v mum and dad etc ) Then we did the orbitron - and wished we hadn't - it appears to be dumbo like - however it seems to have a tilt to it - which I HATED, it felt unsafe, but I guess that's just me...

Then the park opened so we headed out this time - on the way, we saw preparations for the (silly!!) Alphabet letters parade - at the discoveryland end of discovery arcade, the CM lady on crowd control ( us and another family only!!) was really pleasant and said if we waited there 2 min we could follow the letters down main st- it felt like a private parade for us, the kids were amazed - the crowds lining main st for 10 min must have wondered who we were -but anyone/everyone can do it and it is a fantastic way to see the little parade (though it is silly!!)It made our day - the CM was Susana and we made sure to email our appreciation on our return.

Then off to the studios park - the kids got Scrooge McDuck, Donald, Daisy, and Minnie's autograph in the front lot area on entry at 10.30 -they were so pleased and so were we as queues were miniscule compared to the main park. Then brunch at 11 ish - burgers with yukky mayo stuff on them - our worst meal of the trip.then Animagique @ 11.45 it was lovely, not too crowded either, so got a seat near the middle. Then flying carpets - 10min wait but the kids loved this one - much better than dumbo or orbitron.

Decided on the tram tour for our last ride of the day - MISTAKE!!!! 35 min wait (not on the notice it wasn't!!!) VERRRY hot Very little shade. One bus broke down, so wait seemed even longer - Kids also hated it -hey ho, we won't do that one again!! Came out into the parade - but was 28 deg by this point and too hot to watch and wait - a tip though - if it is busy at the parade sides go to the loos at the end of studio1 - outside the exit door near the ladies is a good place to stand and watch.

Back to DCR for snacks/drinks and a swim then some colouring (kids!) and TV + rang through to make a reservation for the Tavern for 6pm - still really hot.
Went for the buffet at the tavern 22E Adult, 10E kids includes a drink of your choice + tap water - and wow
It was soooooooooooo scrummy!!, the healthiest meal we had at Disney (except Dessert of course - see later!) There was one other English family eating there @6 and the buffet was soo lavish.
starter buffet of fresh salads, coleslaw, beetroot, onion/gherkin/olives, pasta salad, couscous salad, cheese, eggs, etc etc - eat as much as you want, go back for more etc REALLY FRESH and really nice!!!!
Main courses: kids stuff (chicken nuggets, fish shapes, pasta tomato sauce) as well as salmon in hollandaise, chicken with mushroom, lamb, veg chilli, mixed veg, couscous, ratattouille, roasted chicken pieces, fried potatoes and of course the salad buffet too.. The salmon was FANTASTIC!
Desserts: mmmmmmm - we HAD to try a bit of everything!!Apple tarte, custard, bread pudding, rice pudding, pineapple mousse cake, creme caramel, choc mousse, choc sauce, fromage frais, fruit sauce, jelly, stewed apple (and I'm ashamed to say ALL were STUNNING) I would recommend the buffet anytime -the kids could eat from the kiddie stuff, or the adult - the only downside was no air conditioning - it was a bit warm in there.
Then back to the cabin for a bit of telly + sleeeeeeeeeeeepppppp!

The cabins are really nice (but no air con) but the bed was starting to get really uncomfortable - we ended up putting the sofa bed mattress on top of the bed one - that helped! The saving grace in hot weather is that they have shutters and bug screens, so at night the kids sleep well - it's dark with the shutters closed, and when hot, you can open the windows + pull down the bug screens - some needed wedging with tissue, but generally ok . I was surprised at the noise from the road - a sort of swooshing sound - all night too, and some families can be a bit inconsiderate - a German family sat barbecuing and drinking till 2am one night -right next to the kids room really, and one family of Americans let their kids hit their cabin with big branches and run round screaming till I asked them to quieten down a little - which I'm glad to say they did (and our car was still in one piece in the morning!!) The pool has been the big bonus in this weather and for that reason - (+ seperate bedrooms for our noisy sleepers!!) we would stay here again - but not in the height of summer - air con would be a must.

One more day to go, but I'm getting cross-eyed now, so till tomorrow.....

Another hot and busy day. You're not alone -my eldest DS won't go on Orbitron, rides SM, Indianna Jones, and RnR, but thinks he's going to fall out of that one :confused3
