Friday the 13th wooooo......
So much for Magic hours - woke up at 5 to 8 (we do get better later in the week!!) - went and got breakfast from the hut - good tip that it was worth picking it up - it was yummy, warm fresh croissants, bread, milk(UHT -yeeeuuukk), coffee, tea, chocolate milk powder, jams, nutella spread stuff, butter etc... - dd2 was making all sorts of yummy noises!!
Went straight to the park and arrived at 9.30 (already 18 degrees!!!) - still got to park in row 3 and there was no problem getting in as they opened a separate bag check area near the rail station side just for the magic hours people.
Headed straight for Buzz - a 10 min wait - popular with magic hours folk as the only BIG rides open were buzz and space mountain. Buzz was such fun!!!! Has become a family favourite, the most likely to be ridden again etc...
Then off to city hall when the main park opened - (DD1 left her hat on a bench last night, but no luck....) whilst hubby went for Fast Passes for BTM
took him 15 min to get them! They were for 11.45, so by that time we had just over an hour to wait...
Went to see the dragon - way too scary for DD1, though after I found her (she RAN out of the castle!!!) she wanted to see it from the stairs by the shop in the castle...Not keen on the moving bit though...
Then did the carousel, 10min wait, and the tea cups ,15min wait, but the kids love this one as I pretend to be scared they will spin me fast, so they do a wicked laugh and spin as fast as they can - It's loads of fun!! And so special to see the joy on their faces...
We took a slow walk through Adventureland to frontierland and BTM - even with Fast pass the wait was 20 min - DD1 LOVED it, DD2 was not keen this year - so gave us an excuse not to have to wait again (I HATE rollercoasters - but go on for the kids sake - I DO NOT want them to have my fears...)
We then went back to DCR for lunch - had our breakfast baguette with a tin of salmon, and loads of fresh crunchy apples from the shop there. Then off for a swim and relax in the pool - what a FANTASTIC pool it is!!! There's a bit where you can drift along, a slide, a big pool for swimming, a teeny toddler pool, water cannon, water fall, big jacuzzi, loads of floats and armbands (and lifeguards on duty), and lovely clean changing rooms - a real bonus for those who stay at DCR. We had such fun and had to promise to come back, the kids loved it soooo much. The fact that the temperature outside had risen to 24 degrees had something to do with it .
Then back to the park, refreshed and relaxed...arrived 4:30 ish - after the parade crowd had cleared, and went for a circuit round the park on the railroad - there was a big queue, but it moved very quickly, and it was worth it as the kids loved it, especially the canyon bit, and waving to the line at IASW.
Then
off to tea at cafe Mickey
We arrived at 6.10 expecting to queue for our 6.15 booking, but were shown straight in to our seats - fairly near the kitchen (good place!!!). Immediately some characters came out: Mr Smee, Gepetto, MICKEY, Goofy, Pluto, Mr Penguin, Eeyore(couldn't sign), Tigger, Captain Hook, and the cat from Pinocchio. The kids loved hugs/signed autographs etc - Goofy mucked about with DD1s hat, Eeyore sat pretending to be sad and cheered up when DD2 ran to him and hugged him, and Captain Hook used Mr Smee's nose as an autograph book rest - which the kids thought hilarious. (they came out again at 7 - same characters, went different way round)
The food was exceptional for adults, usual fare for the kids - they wanted Mickey pizzas again (cos Mickey was dressed as a chef so HE must have made them!!) I had the King Triton - fish, curry sauces, samosas - sounds odd but was absolutely delicious - by the time I thought to take a photo, the plate was empty (oooopppps!). DH had ribs and fries and said they were really meaty, no fat and tasted great. Then dessert - baked alaska for me - WAAAYYY too sweet, but hubby had a chocolate sundae which he said was yummy. Then tea , coffeee, the BILL
107 Euros.... (well we needed one fright on Friday the 13th!!)
Anyhow, was then too late to go back into the park, the kids were tired, so back to DCR - to find a troop of ants dancing in the bathroom
(I know - you live in the woods, you get beasties....) so I rang housekeeping and they sent a nice man with a spray which seemed to work (he checked we weren't allergic and said he couldn't spray in the kids bedroom as it was too close to bedtime etc..). Set a wake up call for 7.20 so will see what happens...
