I know I am probably really thick :lmao: - but how does this work for booking a holiday??

I usually just use my clubcard vouchers for shopping or occassionally we use them for Longleat safari park tickets (which is very good value) - Is it the same premise as the park tickets (eg 4 x the value in Virgin Holidays vouchers or something similar??)

Do you have to 'exchange' the clubcard points for virgin vouchers BEFORE you book?? Can you use them to book virgin atlantic flights only?? Can you pay part cash/part vouchers??

sorry for all the questions, I just wondered how easy it was - Ultimately we won't be going again until Xmas 2010, so should I start saving clubcard vouchers now or am I too early for then??

Thanks ever so much!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Personally i wouldn't bother using clubcard vouchers. You get 4x the value of each voucher but by using the vouchers for part payment you forfeit your online discount as you have to book by phone. Better to use them for days out like you've been doing already.

Check out the following links for details.

thanks for that Nibbo - the discount was my other question - so thanks for answering that - I guess we'll just have another 'free' day at the zoo instead!! thanks again!!:thumbsup2

No probs. Days out at the zoo etc are probably the best thing to use them for. I got conned by Eurotunnel a couple of years ago using the Tesco vouchers. Had to book by phone and the price they gave me on the phone was £300 compared to £150 if i booked online. Still worked out cheaper using the vouchers but not as good as it should have been. I must say that Eurotunnel have now changed their pricing and the prices are the same as online.

:thumbsup2 We exchange our vouchers for Airmiles, by the time we go next year we will at least have enough to get BA/Virgin flights for about £200 each for 2 of us. We hope to even have enough to get them totally free!

Maybe, but in the time it took for our vouchers to arrive the online prices had gone up and we were £12 short of vouchers. Grrrrrr!!

How does this work? I've looked at this before but thought that you could only exchange clubcard vouchers for BA miles and as we are virgin flying club members we haven't bothered. I have looked on the tesco website but can't see a way to change my clubcard vouchers to virgin miles :confused3

You can only change them to either BA Miles or Airmiles, if you choose Airmiles you can normaly choose a Virgin or BA flight (from Gatwick, may be different if you fly from elsewhere) with your miles.

£2.50 = 60 Airmiles. A flight to Orlando return costs about 6500 points each or 3900 miles plus £220 cash or 1,950 miles plus £350.00.

It's worth mentioning that every time I've looked for flights to Orlando on the airmiles website lately, it's only BA that comes up as an option. It used to be the case that you could choose direct with BA or Virgin or indirect with United, US Airways, Continental etc. but seemingly not any more :confused3

I know what you mean, I have found this too. You can find some Virgin flights, and you can select airline on your serch. I personally dont mind if its Virgin or BA, they seem to all be the same to me! :rotfl:

Oh yes, that happened to me too. It seems they put the prices up by a couple of pounds everyday the closer you get to the departure.

If you are interested in saving your Tesco points to pay for your VH, then you need to check out a site called Paid to Shop.

It has a wealth of info on, including how to earn enough points to pay for your holiday to florida with either VH or Cosmos.

This years has been paid for entirely with deals and so will next years. But Mr T is clamping down and further hols may be harder to earn.
