Terrorists are like McGuyver

It just amazes me what terrorists will come up with to cause death and destruction. Its like they have watched too many episodes of McGuyver. First a guy tries to turn his shoes into bombs. So now we have to take our shoes off through security and have them screened. Now they can make a bomb using "liquids" and an ipod or cell phone. So now everyone has to dump their contact lens cleaner, deoderant, and cup of Starbucks. I just reminds me of the show McGuyver..."Quick I need a paperclip, rubberband, stick of gum, a snorkel and a cell phone and I can create a bomb".

It seems like we are coming to the point that in order to board a plane we will all have to be wearing HazMat suits and provide a d.n.a. sample.

What do you all think of how terrorists are turning harmless/ordinary objects into bombs?

But yes, they are getting more and more creative in order to get their explosives on the planes. That's just a fact about the "human" mind: it will always search for solutions to a problem.

No kidding! Chris and I were saying that when we saw details. The devices were going to be false bottoms of sports drink bottles that could be detonated by a camera flash? That just reeks of MacGyver.

And how about this? What if the plot had succeeded? How on earth would the method have even been discovered from wreckage pulled from the ocean? I wonder if we would ever have figured out how it was done.

Chris says it will get to the point where we're allowed no carry-on luggage, stripped down and searched at security and given a hospital gown to wear on the plane. Passengers get their clothes and belongings back at the arrival destination. We'll all be flying Peek-A-Boo Airlines.
