Terrorist Attack in France

Its near Lyon which is a long way from Paris, but hopefully it wouldn't stop flights or anything. I doubt it will.

The security level is at the highest since the killings in January so it won't change anything for tourists or stop flights or any other form of transport.

We have strikes atm which are doing that already. :sad2:

And let us all avoid speculation until we have all the facts

Im not sure it can be called speculation when the world's media are reporting it - especially the BBC who won't report anything until confirmed from 3 reputable sources!

Good to know on security levels.

I wasn't directing that at you ;) It's just that some people see the word terrorist and go into all sorts of conspirary theories and it gets political which is not allowed. Also not everyone reads the BBC and when you see some of the information that the "media" will publish about this event it can get nasty very quickly

So far it is an isolated incident commited by one man known to the security forces who has been apprehended. Hopefully he is an isolated case and that's the end of it for this time. :(

Exactly. The location of the incident is about as far from any tourist areas as you can get in France. I'm sure there will be a few protests and memorials around in larger cities, but it shouldn't be that big of a deal for tourists.

And as someone who lives in the general area, I can confirm that nothing is out of the ordinary today. There are a few more patrols, but the sky isn't falling here in Grenoble.

Been thinking today about the security at DLP, do we think its enough?

Scary times ahead I think, but something has to be done.

I think this question would be better in its own thread, as its not directly linked to the original topic of the incident in Grenoble.

I'll close this thread now.
