Hi everyone.
My dad was taken to hospital on Saturday night with a suspected stroke.
I called my mum on Saturday afternoon to tell her I was coming over for a visit. She said she needed me to 'have a look' at my Dad, as she thought he was unwell. To cut a long story short, I was shocked at what I saw. He was shaking, uncoordinated, confused and clearly not well. My dad is usually an active (bike-riding) man of 77. I had seen him less than 2 weeks before and he had been fine.
We phoned for an ambulance and he deteriorated before our eyes. The paramedics said that he 'most probably' had an infection and took him to hospital. It was a very long night, while we waited for him to be assessed. He was admitted to a ward very late on Saturday night.
I went to see him today and he is still no better. He is still vacant and confused - it's just not my dad.
There didn't seem to be any answers or explanations as to why he is like this. We are just hoping that it is not permanent.
Sorry to offload but I can't talk to anyone at home without snapping.
