Terrible Rain!! What to do? Help!

THank you all for the helpful replies. I suppose I shouldn't type with one eye open after midnight on an evening I had been in the parks all day-

What I should have said, is today is our scheduled POOL day, so though we will get in a few morning hours, what should we do once the thunderstorms roll in? I don't want to sit in the room. :(

Tomorrow we are at Epcot. We will try and push through the rain I suppose! I'm usually in it to win it no matter what.
well, you already got some good alternatives in going to a movie or bowling...how about YeHaa Bob at Port Orleans? His show is amazing and super entertaining, starts at 8:30pm tonight and it is indoors

Where are you staying? You could do a monorail resort tour, or take the bus from your resort > park > a resort you've wanted to explore but haven't found time to.

We are staying at the poly. I don't have another park ticket to use today, it's for tomorrow. Plus, if it's still on (like if the rain clears) we have dinner at 5:15 at Spirit of Aloha which kind of kills a park day anyway.

I never heard of that- I will look into it. Thanks you.
I just have to see how my DD holds up. She was up so late last night I was hoping she would be in bed tonight around that time.
We will see.

It's really the day time afternoon to early evening that I'm worried about the rain.:(

Explore other resorts
Disney Springs ( splitsville is a lot of fun)
Not sure if disney quest is still open?

Too bad you weren't going to the parks today. We were there first week of Sept last year, one day had a lot of rain. We rode 17 rides in one day at magic kingdom, including all the popular rides.

You don't have to use a park ticket to take a bus to one of the parks in order to take a bus to another resort. :thumbsup2

I like the idea of Splitsville in Disney Springs that someone else mentioned too, as well as the AMC theater!

Grand Floridian has a cute opportunity to see Cinderella and Prince Charming, I think it's around 4:15pm, they come down the staircase and dance in the lobby, sometimes they stop for pictures, that could be cute. Make sure to ask the exact time, if it's not 4:15pm it's 4:45pm

What do you do during a trip that gets heavy rain? We are here now and got hit with a POURING thunderstorm that killed our evening in the park. The next few days call for thunderstorms in the early afternoon. What do you do if it rains? Tomorrow we have a pool day, we can hopefully get some swimming in the first half. But what is there to do if it gets washed out the second part of the day?
We are staying at the Poly. Thanks!
We're here now too! We cut out around 10:15 and missed the postponed fireworks at MK :( We plan to grab a few movies, visit JellyRollls one night, hit Splitsville and keep the fashionable ponchos close at hand!

Hang in there the weather can still change and make the best of it. I see where they are saying today is supposed to ne mostly sunny an tomorrow only 40% chance of a thunder storm..

Get up early, do as much as possible while it's dry. Bring a rain poncho and do your best to keep your footwear dry. Enjoy! Rain??? No problem!:thumbsup2

Some people just 'soldier' on - not us. We 'will' not slosh around in the rain, no matter how empty the parks. Sorry this is happening - guess their 'drought' has finally broken.
For them, I'm glad, but for you, I definitely share your frustration and upset!! :(
We were there a few weeks ago and only a couple small showers - was great for us, but they wanted/needed more!

Dine in movie at DS is an option, arcade also.

It rained one afternoon over Spring Break while we were staying at the Poly. We checked out the hula demonstration in the Great Ceremonial House and our youngest (9 years old) went to Lilo's playhouse. They may have an open house to check out earlier in the afternoon, but the child care portion isn't until the evening so that would conflict with your Spirit of Aloha reservation. I wouldn't go to the effort of traveling to Port Orleans or Art of Animation. I'd enjoy the monorail resorts. It's fun to walk around both the Grand Floridian and Contemporary. And the Contemporary Cafe at the Contemporary is one of my favorite counter service options.

Put on your swimsuit /cover up ( I wear the fast dry tennis type outfit from a sporting good store) put your hair in a ponytail and get wet ;) just go with it. Ponchos are always on the packing list

It's getting into the rainy season.
You should expect thunderstorms daily.
We just toss on a poncho and carry on.
We try to go on attractions that will close during rain early in the day such as TT.
I've gotten soaked watching Illuminations in a massive thunderstorm and didn't care lol.

If you don't have them already, buy ponchos. Save the shopping bag you get then or use bags from other gift shop purchases to hold your wet ponchos indoors because you'll never get them back into the little cases they sell them in.

Take her to Beaches and Cream for an Ice Cream Sundae - Ride the monorail/boat to MK then take the bus from MK to the Beach Club!

One of our best times was during a thunderstorm at the Poly. We sat in the lobby eating sushi, having a beer and watching the palm trees blow in the wind. It was a great time relaxing with family and making new friends.

Jump on the Monorail! Our family loves to check out other resorts. I always find some good snack and enjoy not being at work. Your still at Disney!!
