TERRIBLE day at DCA for ride breakdowns

We were there last week and one day was horrible. We had an advanced DAS pass for Monsters Inc when we arrived and it was down. We had booked a Luigi DAS and then it was down. Later on that day we had a RSR DAS return and it was down. Other rides were down throughout the same day like Midway Mania and I think a couple others (but I can't recall because they were ones we weren't trying to go on anyway.) But it was pretty bad and if it had been our only day at DCA it would have been really upsetting to pay money for that. Thankfully we had multi-day hoppers.

We experienced several closed rides while at Disneyland too. We had a DAS return for Indiana Jones one day and they send you through the LL for it (which already sucks for a DAS return.) It broke down right as we hit the projector room. We had to wait forever, which again...not good for DAS or our son. We noticed Indiana Jones was down a lot during our days in the park.

We are using DAS for the first time and wondering what happens to the booked DAS when the ride goes down. Does it turn into a Multiple Experience Pass? Especially wondering about the Advance Booked ones because those only have an hour use time?

Yes, they turned into multi-experience passes. However, I believe the advanced booked ones can only be used on a very specific list of rides because we had trouble using one of those. It said multi-use from when our advanced booking of It's a Small World went down. When they tried to scan it at Peter Pan and Storybook Canal a thing popped up saying it was for Hyperspace Mountain (which made no sense at all and I even showed them where it said it was for our IASW pass.) thankfully, they just let us on Storybook anyway. But I'm wondering now if it was only meant to be used on the short list of rides available for advanced booking.

The DAS multi-experience ones couldn't be used on certain rides like RSR and Rise. Unless your DAS was actually for that ride specifically.

When Incredicoaster went down we got a multi-experience and I made the mistake of trying to use it on Guardians, which it turned out not to be valid for. Ended up using it on Soarin’ instead. It seems that there are “tiers” for this, where Guardians and TSMM are in a higher tier than Incredicoaster and Soarin’. So when you get a multi-experience there is a link you can click on where it tells you which rides you can use it on.
