As you may know dtr and I are due to leave a week tomorrow for our girly spring break to DLRP.
Air tickets thanks to Air Miles, booked a couple of months ago.
Due to leave 6.15 Monday morning from the bright and shiny new Terminal 5.....
Aaaaah - therein lies the problem.
They are still cancelling flights after that initial hoo-hah and there seems no end in sight to the problems.
Will we even take off or we will the 2 of us and Flick the croc spend 4 days at Heathrow instead? :sad1:

Oh no...surely they'll have to have sorted it out by then or they'll have a great deal of unhappy customers.

hope your flight will take off... still a lot of disruption at T5 unfortunately... everyone in london has been talking about it, it's madness what they've done but they can't change anything now.

I also read that some people take only hand luggage in case their hold luggage never gets to them.

good luck with it all. :flower3:

I hope you get off OK. I'm just glad we decided to drive and use the tunnel!! I'm sure it will work out well though and you will all get there on time.

I am sure they will have got something sorted out by then.

Sending you lots ofpixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: and maybe send some to BA as well - I think they will need it ;)

Thank goodness you're going next Monday and not tomorrow.

Sending loads of :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: that things are sorted out by then.

Your favourite airline ;)

Dont start :lmao: We are having a right old time with BA at the moment trying to change our WDW flights - they want us to go into terminal 5 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We had exactly the same chaos in Athens when the new airport opened a few years back - the so called sophisticated checking in and baggage syetems weren't operating thousands of cases got lost and flights cancelled. It took about a week for the flights to operate normally so fingers crossed you should be o.k.
It took them a lot longer to completly sort out the baggage mess so to be on the safe side I'd take essentials in your hand luggage and make sure I had good insurance for the case- so if it gets delayed you can always splash out on some great Disney clothes with the knowledge you'll get the money back! I hope it all goes smoothly for you and you have a great time.

Sending pixie dust your way so your trip goes smoothly...

Seriously though, how complicated is baggage sorting anyway?!!!! I'm guessing Terminal 5 suffers from the modern plague of too many managers with targets and not enough people who actually do any work/know what they're doing!

The problem seems to have started because security was so tight none of the security staff could get through to check the rest of the staff through to start working:confused3 Then they filled one staff car park and didn't open extras so no-one could park, then the computers wouldn't let them log on (and we've ALL been there at work, right :rolleyes1 ). Hopefully they will sort it, but think about minimising check-in baggagee and try to manage with hand baggage - you can always buy Disney T-shrts etc when you get there so as long as you have a change of undies and possibly trousers you can then manage even if your luggage goes AWOL.

:wizard: for getting on a plane - the rest is manageable!

Our WDW flight is leaving there as well in August. I haven't thought about changing them since I figure they will have themselves sorted by then. Do you know something I don't?

They will definitely sort things out by August... Or I hope so...

Maybe it's just a week or two from hell till they get themselves better organised. I hope for everyone on this board and generally everyone, they'll manage to pull through... My mum is due to fly into Heathrow in 3 weeks time, not sure if it'll be T5 but hopfully by then all the chaos will be resolved.:confused3
