Has the new bar opened and if so whats it like, sounds fun but we always shoped at the retail shops in Mexico:thumbsup2

I stopped in last week and it was not there yet.

I asked a CM in Mexico (in the pavillion) when he thought it might open and he said he had no idea what I was even talking about. As far as he knew there was not tequila bar coming in at all.

I thought i heard about a tequila bar there as well. Maybe it was just a rumor im curious to know if anyone else heard about this?

In Mexico, a 50- to 60-seat tequila bar replaces a retail shop in the pavilion's spacious indoor courtyard in summer 2007. And the pavilion's waterfront Cantina de San Angel is expanding with more seating with optimal views of World Showcase, and will offer a new menu by summer 2008.

CM said six months in Sept. but current plan is take out jewelry shop and put in bar

I vote tequila too, as long as the put a rest room by the bar. ;)

We actually went in the jewerly shop in August - Everything was covered in dust like its been there for years!

With that being said....

 TEQUILA!!!

I have to agree a tequila bar in air conditioned comfort would be a great break from the park!!!

I think it was originally on the rumor board:

Changes All Around World Showcase

In the Mexico pavilion, a 50- to 60-seat tequila bar, including a history of the beverage, replaces a retail shop adjacent to the restaurant, opening in summer 2008. Also in summer 2008, the pavilion's waterfront Cantina de San Angel is expanding with more seating with optimal views of World Showcase, and will offer a new menu.

From this it doesn't look like it will be there until next summer maybe that is why CM don't know anything about it.

The jewelry shop will probably be moving across the courtyard to where the Kidcot stop is now, Kidcot will move up front where the carver is, and the tequila bar will go where the jewelry shop was.

All next spring - oops, make that summer.

Of course, plans may change.

But you didn't really think Disney would downsize its retail space, now did you? LOL
