We are considering dining at Teppen Edo on our trip in September. We all LOVE to eat Japanese here in SC, but I am a little scared of trying anything new. I have a couple of concerns, and hope you guys can help me;)

First- I see on the menu that the rice is white steamed rice. Here ALL of our Japanese restaurants serve fried rice, and it is our fave part of the meal (I wonder now if this is just a southern thing:lmao:) Do they only offer steamed rice?

Also, we have 8 people in our party including my 2 children...does anyone know if this will be an issue here. I am always fearful with our large party.

Has anyone eaten at Teppen Edo that has pictures of the food to share?? I would feel better about making the adr if I could see what the food looks like:confused3

Eight people is not very large--you'll be at one grill table.

They will do fried rice. You may pay extra, but ask.

I love the Teppan Edo. Its going to look exactly like what you get at Benihana.

We have always been told that fried rice is not available because it is not a Japanese dish, it's Chinese. Have you had fried rice at Teppan Edo?

My family loves this restaurant. We, too, prefer fried rice. We asked and our chef replied that they were not allowed to make it because of the Chinese restaurant there in Epcot.

Exactly my question.

We eat here every trip (3-4 times per year) & have never had the option of fried rice for the exact reason listed above.

Each table seats 8 so you'll be fine. Any more & you will, I would expect, be put at two tables.

Teppan Edo does not offer fried rice. You can ask them if they will fry some rice, but it looks as though they probably won't.

The hibachi tables seat 8 persons.

We ate at Teppan Edo twice this past December. My Mom asked if she could have fried instead of white rice and were told with a resounding 'No' that they did not offer fried rice as an option as there were Chinese eateries in Epcot.

Just so you know, they don't include salad or soup anymore, they cost extra. I love the food there and what the others have said is true on seating etc. We have eaten here every time since opened!! This is the one must do each trip. ( it is getting expensive though esp. since it isn't an all inclusive meal like it used to be with soup and salad)
