I have 2 very picky children and I'm just wondering if Teppen Edo and Boma might work for them? Anyone had experiences with this?

on our last trip we went to both of these places and had a great meals at each. boma has plenty to choice from on the buffet. they had some really good ribs and chicken there but if the kids want they also had chicken fingers there as well. teppen edo had basically grilled chicken and steak with vegies. we did not have a problem with trying to find food for a picky eater at either place

I have not eaten at Boma, so I can't comment on that.
Have you looked at the menu here on the DIS or at allears.net for Teppan Edo?
It is a pretty set menu. The meat/chicken/shrimp are stir fried on the grill with veggies (onions, zucchini and mushrooms) as well as udon noodles (with a sauce). It is served with plain white rice.
I don't think there is much opportunity to stray beyond these offerings - for example they wouldn't have chicken fingers and fries even available.
If your children would not enjoy these offerings, maybe there is a better choice for them.
Good Luck

I consider myself to be a picky eater... but i've gotten a lot better lol.

I've been to both places and really enjoyed both!

Boma has a lot of unique foods, but they are all really good. They also have a childrens station with mac and cheese and more "normal" foods, so children shouldn't have a problem here.

Teppan Edo is good as well, you can order steak, chicken, shrimp or vegetables, and they all come with noodles and rice. We went with a big group, and there were 4 kids, and they all seemed to enjoy the food!

Did not eat at Boma, but loved TE (best meal of the trip). It really depends how picky your kids are. Mine are somewhat picky, but 2 of the 3 were fine with the grilled chicken/shrimp and udon noodles. The 3rd, who is the pickiest, only ate the goldfish we packed for her as a snack. But it still wasn't a total waste of a dining credit as she did enjoy watching the chef do her thing. If you think your kids will be ok I highly recommend you give it a try.

My very picky son has always found something at Boma to eat, they have plenty of American fare. Teppan Edo, haven't tried.

I asked the same question about Teppan Edo. People replied to me that you can have your dinner without the vegetables (onion, zucchini, mushrooms according to pp). None of us do onion or mushrooms. So we will request no veggies if that is what they are (I might try them). The kids like the chicken teriyaki at school, so I tried it this weekend at a buffet because I had never had it. It was good! I think I will have the girls order that, as I heard the plain chicken can get dry. Anyway, between the plain rice and fairly plain meats, I think we will be fine.

Udon noodles- I still don't know what they are like. Are they like Ramen noodles? That's what they look like. (As you can see I am not familiar with Asian food)
