We have never eaten at this restaurant and are considering it for our upcoming trip. What are the opinions, both good and bad.

How does this restaurant compare with similar hibatchi restaurants in your hometown.

We just ate there last week. Our 10 yr old ds is interested in all things from Japan and it was his request that we eat there. I thought it was good. We've eaten at several other restaurants like this. Dh is a vegetarian and he appreciated that his meal was prepared seperately. The cook did all the usual fun things with utensil throwing and catching food in his hat, etc. They had a nice selection of Japanese beer, too.

We eat there every trip as is is a favorite for all four of us. We have always had good food and good service. It is a bit pricey tho... $$$$$.

When I went there, I got a beef and chicken combo. I thought the beef was excellent, but the chicken was dry. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, though.

The one thing I didn't like was that when I left there, I smelled like the grill. LOL

I like Teppanyaki but - for the $$ - it is not really any better than my local Japanese steakhouse.

If we go again - we would probably do lunch.

We liked it enough that this trip will be our third time there. (at the request of DH)

We always do lunch....but LOVE this place!!!!!!!!!!!

I had just the opposite experience - the chicken and veggie tempura was really good but the beef was chewy and fatty, really really bad. It seemed like it was just bad quality meat.

This may not be true but I read on another post that they eliminated the lunch menu and now use the dinner menu all day.

This is my husbands favorite WS restaurant. It is not a trip to The World, unless we have dinner here. I think the food is good. The chef has a direct impact on the overall experience. Some are more outgoing than others. It certainly is similar to Japanese Steakhouse everywhere in presentation. I would recommend it!

We didnt enjoyed it as much last trip -so we ventured into Orlando (Intl Drive) and found another Japanese Steakhouse that we had a great dinner at. :moped:

It was the most expensive meal we had our whole week there! :earseek: But it was really good and worth it. We were there on a night when it was pouring rain.... had been all day! :umbrella: Our chef was really good, he really played up the corny jokes with my 8 yr. old DS. Our tablemates were really nice and we enjoyed chatting with them. Dh and I ordered Japanese beer and our kids had the expensive fruity drinks with umbrellas! Also, DD ordered an adult meal so that added to the cost. We liked the food and it was like a meal and a show and that was just what we needed on a rainy night. :)

tried it for the first time our last trip - it was good and enjoyable, nothing different then the ones around where we live. Id go back again.

I too think they have taken a step backward. We go every trip (my DD's really like it), I always get the steak and lobster and thought the steak was of a lesser quality than usual. They also stopped serving the salads which is one of my favorite things, they now serve pickled cucumbers (not great). I ordered the salad as an extra and it didn't live up to my expectation, the dressing wasn't quite the same. In all fairness everyone else (6 of us in total) enjoyed it. Just as a side note the guy chefs for the most part have been replaced with females. We have PS's for our trip in June and I'm hoping all will be well. I think for the most part they are equal to our local restaurants, but we always seem to enjoy the company (other diners) at our table more in WDW. I guess people are in a really good mood since they are on vacation.

GREAT POINT

I LOVED Teppanyaki when I went in Feb. It out-rocked any hibachi (sp?) grill I had ever been to :) I would gladly go there anytime! :)

This is one place we have wanted to try and have never gotten around to. I think we are going to make it a must on our next trip. I have never been to a Japanese steakhouse and I understand you sit around the grill with other families. Can you have a high-chair at the grill? My DD will only be 10 months when we go and we can't very well leave her out. ;)

Always good and I'm a self-proclaimed Habachi freak!!
