I need advice about taking 5 kids (ages 7,6,4.5,4.5 and 1.5) to Teppanki for dinner. We will be there with 4 adults, also. Is this restaurant okay for small children?

We ate there on our last trip and there was plenty of kids and all appeared to be having a good time. The chefs goof around with the kids alot. The only thing that I am not sure of is the table capacity...I am pretty sure it will only hold about 8 people...you may have to split up your party.

we seem to remember the tables seating 6 or 8 just watch the the cooking surface it is with in arms reach of the seats good thing i have fast reflexes and cought my sons arm befor he had a chance to touch the surface

My kids loved it when we went...they were 3 & 7. I think they usually sit the kids at the coolest part of the table...but you do have to be mindful of your kids reaching too far. Maybe they have a high chair for the little one so he/she won't be close to the cooking surface.

All in all, it was one of our more peaceful meals with our kids! They were so entertained and consumed with using chopsticks that they were quiet and we could actually enjoy our dinner!!

I am almost certain the table "seats" 8. But these a big people chairs. Just being creative here but I wonder if it would be possible to smoosh 3 chairs together and have the 6,2x4.5, and wee little one sit together bench style or a highchair perhaps for the smallest one?
I didn't walk around the whole restaurant but hey, this is Disney. They are used to big families travelling together. Maybe they have some tables that can accomidate a larger party.

There were six in our party, myself, hubby and 4 kids and some poor couple, unlucky enough to be assigned to sit with us. They made the best of it though. LOL
It was a fun evening, kept the kids entertained, the food was excellent and they really doted on the kids. Go! Enjoy!

My kids loved it here. The chef is so entertaining. We were a family of five and they sat four people with us so I don't see any problem for you. I even ordered the kids meal for myself and it was plenty of food. Enjoy.

My DD loved it last year and we are going again for her Bday in two weeks. She will be 9. Our chef was very entertaining and the food was great. It was also nice to see her eat something besides chicken fingers and fries.

We took my 4 and 5 year old and they were fine down at the end where the grill is cooler - but I couldn't reach the youngest to help her because I was next to my oldest - Dad was next to me and couldn't help kids at all, and Grandma and Aunt were next to him - couldn't even talk to them. But personally, I'd go nuts with that many small children and the hot grill - and it isn't a great "conversation" meal - hard to talk to people lined up like that.

I do think its a great meal, a lot of fun. But not good for small children.

disclaimer: other people have other children. My opinions are not everyone's. Some small children will do fine here. Mine at 2 would have been climbing ON the grill, and my preschoolers are still used to Mommy or Daddy sitting next to them and helping them (although there is no meat cutting at Teppenyaki).

My 5 and 7 year old dds loved this restaurant last month. We went for lunch (the portions were big enough for me to consider it dinner!). They were seated at an end where it is cooler. They gave them crayons and menus to color on and once the chef came out they never colored again. And the best part was they ate something different for a change.

The both ate the entire meal with their chopsticks!! They did better than dh and I did...not once did they pick up a fork even for the rice!

I do have to say the food was okay...I don't want to say it was spectacular but watching them cook in front of you and the jokes was a fun time for all of us.
