How is this restaurant? Looking for something new to try and this has me intrigued. anyone eat here recently?

We love TEppan Edo and eat here most every trip. Many folks, though feel that it is just another Hibachi restaurant. If you have a good hibachi restaurant near you at home you may not enjoy it as much as we do.
Folks also complain that Teppan Edo does not serve Fried Rice, - but that is a Chinese dish, not Japanese.
We find the food good, the chef's entertaining and it is a nice setting.

My family goes to Teppan Edo every single trip to WDW. It is one of our all-time favorites, I think the food is absolutely incredible, and I'm about as picky as they come! Its entertaining, you often get a chance to meet new people, and the meal is, again, amazing. I cannot express this enough. I would highly recommend it!

We enjoyed it very much in March. We don't typically do hibachi here at home so it was a fun experience. The chef was very entertaining and the food very good. If you are a smaller party you will be seated with other parties. We had 7 so we were at a table on our own.

Exactly! This is what i keep telling people. If you want fried rice, go to China. Fried rice is not Japanese.

I've been to local hibachi places and i honestly still think Teppan Edo is far superior with the food. Sure they dont give you that dinky little salad to start, but who cares! I didnt care for it anyway. I love the food. Sure some chefs arent as exciting but its still fun to watch.

I love the filet here. Its absolutely delicious! I also really enjoyed the green tea pudding for dessert.

Heres my take on Teppen Edo, lol...I think Teppen Edo is a "disneyfied" hibachi place. If you have a Hibachi restaurant near you that you have been to you might be a little disappointed in Teppen Edo. The first time we went there was in 2014 bc my kids LOVE Hibachi and I have to say my older DS was disappointed in the hibachi show. The food was really good though so I will give them that, lol. We went to Teppen Edo again on our 2015 trip, by the request of my older DS. I asked him if he was sure about that bc he was disappointed the last time we went. He told me that it was ok, he still thought the show was interesting but the food was really really good he said, LOL. This is also coming from seriously the pickiest eater in the whole world. He barely eats anything and we are always telling him he needs to eat. Anyways when we went in 2015 he ordered I think the steak off the kids menu and he ate his whole plate. His brother had the chicken but only ate about half of it and my older DS finished off his brother's chicken. I thought he was going to be sick that day bc he NEVER eats that much, lol. My theory is if you go not expecting to see the BEST hibachi show on the planet I think you will have fun and I also think their food is pretty good as well. It has definitely moved up to the must do each trip list, lol

Didn't care much for it, but we have a great Japanese hibachi restaurant near home. The meat was fine (not a ton of flavor) but the noodles were odd. Weird texture and flavor. I have an allergy to MSG so I could not eat the brown rice (which is not cooked in front of you) so they substituted that for white rice for me.

Overall, I probably won't go back.
