Does Teppan Edo do the "show" where they cook your meal in front of you? Is it pretty similiar to the Japanese Steak and Seafood places outside of Disney (we have Fuji Grill here)?
Yes they do, and most of the chefs are funny as well! Teppan Edo is a must do each visit. We also have several restaurants that are similar in our area, but we still enjoy Teppan Edo! Happy dining!

Thanks! My kids LOVE Fuji Grill (they call it "The Fire Restaurant" because of the fire in the onion stack) and I know they would love Teppan Edo if it was anything like that!
It should be noted that Teppan Edo doesn't serve fried rice, just steamed white rice. That came up before, and a number of persons were astonished, and some said they wouldn't go if there was no fried rice.

On the allears menu it said udon noodles and steamed rice for the adult and noodles for the kids vegetarian entree (we're veg). The kids always order noodles instead of rice but I guess I'd prefer fried rice so that's too bad. I guess they don't do the rice on the grill then?
The show is great, the food is good but we prefer to eat at our local place because you get the fried rice, the soup and salad and the veggies and appie shrimp and at TE you dont and it costs so much more.

This is great info to have. I've been resisting going here because we have a local place that does the show, and its always such a treat for the kids when we do go - I wasn't sure I wanted to risk losing that by having them always compare it to Disney. But knowing that you don't get the fried rice, soup and salad further sways me to go with some of the other, different places.
You can get the soup and/or the salad...but they aren't included with the entree, you have to pay for them. If you're on DDP all you get without paying extra is the entree and a dessert. If you're on the deluxe plan you can order the soup OR salad as your appetizer but not both. Fried rice just isn't available.
