Teppan Edo?

I've seen quite a few posts recommending Teppan Edo and want to try it. However, my Mom will be with us and she is not a very adventurous eater. She is strictly meat and potatoes, sauce on the side please thank you very much.

I know she won't be thrilled with the choice but for one night out of 8 I think we can live with that, lol. I checked their menu and I see they have a steak choice. For those that have been, how is the steak?

Should we look elsewhere? We went to LC last time at Epcot and the food was good but we want to try somewhere different. Any other place you can recommend that is a little exotic for the rest of us but has a good steak for Mom?

Everything is stir fried table side. This includes the steak. It will be cut up into small pieces. Its quite good, very tender.

While the food at Teppan Edo is good I would not call it great. People like this restaurant because of the show. Everything is cooked table side. The chef makes the experience that people enjoy.

That said we found Teppan Edo mediorcre at best. This is mainly because we have many similar restaurants in our hometown that offer a better show, better food at lower prices. Benihanas is a similar style restaurant found world wide.

If you do not have a teppanyaki style restaurant in your home town then Teppan Edo maybe a fun place to dine. An offsite choice would be Kobes, close to Downtown Disney. Excellent food and dining experience.

Thanks. We do have a Benihana style in our area. My daughter has never been nor has Mom. I'll have to call it a "maybe" if we don't find a better option.

There must be somewhere other than LC at Epcot WS that has a good steak plus some more exotic offerings??????

You could take a walk out the rear of world showcase and eat at an EPCOT resort. Yacht Club- Yachtsman Steakhouse, Captains Grill, Boardwalk- Kouzzina, Big river Brewing, Shula's Steakhouse.

All have at least one steak choice on the menu (some more obviously) and some other good stuff.

I thought the steak at Teppan Edo was really good and all of the dipping sauces came on the side.

Nothing cooked there is really seasoned. It is all pretty bland. That's why you get 3 different sauces to dip your food in if you want.

And the "show" is fun especially if you have never been to one.

I wouldn't call the food exotic though.....

I love Teppan Edo and would go with that. If she likes italian, Tutto Italia is good. I feel its better than its predecessor, Alfredos

We love Teppan Edo, it is a must do every trip. It is MUCH better than any teppan style restaurant near us. And we are pretty much meat and potatoe folks as well.
But, everything is grilled together. The stir fry includes zucchini, onions noodles etc. It is served with plain white rice, which is the Japanese style (fried rice is a Chinese dish)
We also enjoy the Rose & Crown in the UK. They have a "Sunday Roast" which looks like a pot roast meal, and a Surf and Turf which is steak and fried fish combo.

I did end up booking Teppan Edo for our EpWS dinner. My dd will be 8 and will really enjoy the show I'm sure. Thanks for all the advice!

we really enjoyed Teppan Edo and went 2x last trip BUT that is before we discovered benihana. I dont think Teppan edo is better sooooo while I would recommend it, keep in mind that you can have the same thing at home.

The steak at Teppan Edo is good. When we've eaten there it was very tender. The food isn't really exotic at all I don't think. The show is fun! Hope you enjoy your meal!
