We'll be eating in Japan this year for the first time. Am I correct in understanding that they cook your food in front of you like a Japanese Steak House? Also, have any of you eaten here. Most of what I've heard about it is good, but we're also going for the fun of seeing them cook it all.:cheer2:

I ate at TE in October. The food is prepared in front of you similar to the chain Hibachi grill places. We really liked our food. We had the steak and shrimp and our 3yo DD had the chicken. No complaints from us.:)

Teppan Edo quickly became one of my favorites at Disney after I visited for the 1st time last Feb. I also went again in October.

The food was terrific and both times we had a fabulous chef who made the meal very entertaining! :cloud9:

We eat there everytime we go to Disney. It is my husbands must do and the kids have so much fun. It is also a great place(from balcony) to watch the fireworks. I try to get 7-7:15 ressies so we can then go out and watch the fireworks. Works great.

OOH, I think ours are for a little earlier, maybe I could get them changed. Thanks for the info.

Teppan Edo is awesome! I just ate there Sunday night for my second time and again ordered the chicken and shrimp and it was great! I haven't had the most exciting chefs but it's still fun and the food is awesome! Also, try the Cherry Blossom Martini, yummy!:drinking1

So happy I saw this thread! I'm definitely making ADRs there for my trip (if I can get them!) with my best friend. She loves Japanese restaurants and has never been to EPCOT!

This is one of our favorites .. It's a must for us..The entertainment is fun. The drinks are great , and the food is always good. And I think its a healthy alternative to other Disney cuisine..

Do they serve fried rice and vegtables, like a typical hibachi. By typical I mean the many Japanese steak house chains.

WONDERFUL!!! This was the best meal of our trip (we went Dec 10-14). The Chef did such a great job, we sent her a thank you note at the end of the meal. I have a video of it, I'll try to get it up on youtube. We'll DEFINATELY go back!!!!!

I haven't been since they changed the name (just haven't gotten a chance, not on purpose!) But the rice at least from what we have here is slightly different, but the veggies are the same. I vastly prefer the one in Epcot vs the version of Hibachi that I get here.

We ate there for the first time last week and my very picky DH said it was the best meal he's ever had on property! I loved it too! (We both had the sirloin.) My DD(8) had a blast and our chef was awesome. He had a great sense of humor not to mention a lot of talent! I think his name was Ahira (?). My twins (age 20 months) also liked the food. Try the Green Tea puddig for dessert- it's fabulous! It is a must-do for us from now on!

Ooo we'll be eating here for dinner on New Year's Eve. Very excited. My parents have gone to teppenyaki restaurants before, but it'll be my first. Thanks for the great reviews; I'm getting more and more excited.

Sarehm- The pic of your dog in your signature is so cute!!!

DH &I ate dinner there this past november & really liked it.
Lovely decor, excellent service, prompt & friendly; very clean, entertaining 'chef'. Our food was super, DH & I shared the tempura app & both of us greatly enjoyed the sirloin & shrimp combo.
I did have a Sunrise cocktail, which was pretty & yummy (& strong!), DH had warmed saki. For dessert it was the Green Tea pudding, which was tasty & not overly sugary.

You do sit at the table with others--our table seated 8--if that figures into yr decision

We will defintely return!:thumbsup2

We'll be trying it this summer & I am so glad to hear the great reviews. :thumbsup2

My daughter really likes it as she is a little foodie. We don't particularly care for sitting at a large table with others - it's nice to escape other people at mealtime as the parks are so crowded, so this might be an issue for some.

Also, currently Teppan Edo/Tokyo Dining are not signed up for 2009 Dining Plan (signed up very late last year), nor do they accept the TIW Card (formerly DDE), so this might factor into someone's decision about eating here.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

It's my family's new favorite meal! We'll be dining there again this summer. Can't wait!
