any suggestions???

Teppan Edo :thumbsup2. Have only been there once (about 2 weeks ago) but been to Coral Reef 3 X now. While I like Coral Reef, I liked Teppan Edo much better. We will return to Teppan Edo before Coral Reef. We had our DDs 14 and 17 w/ us and they loved it. Enjoy! :goodvibes

Teppan Edo

I did Coral Reef years ago.... (Maybe even 15 years ago at that)

But Teppan Edo has been our family tradition ever since and it's DS's favorite thing of the whole trip. :rotfl:

I like them both. Teppan Edo has better food, but Coral Reef has better atmosphere. With 2 small kids, I think I would go with Coral Reef. They will love the tank and there is a very small possibility that they could burn themselves on the grill at Teppan Edo. My DD never did, but I didn't have to watch two kids!

The kids will enjoy either, but if they have never been to the Coral Reef they will LOVE the atmosphere of the huge tank full of very cool marine life. The food is not as good as Teppan Edo, but for the age your children they will be enthralled by the fish...sea turtles etc. Overall we prefer Teppan Edo but when my kids were smaller the Coral Reef was mandatory if I wanted peace on the trip. :goodvibes

If you are going for the food definately Teppan Edo if you are going for atmospher go to Coral Reef. Coral Reef's food is good but I love Teppan Edo

We dined at both places on our last trip. Three of us preferred Coral Reef, one preferred Teppan Edo. They both really were very good, in general we just prefer to not share a table.

Both are very good, so I don't think you will be disappointed regardless of which you choose. If I had to pick between the two I would choose Coral Reef - we've always had excellent meals there and we love the atmosphere with the aquarium view.

We would SOOO rather do Tepan Edo, but alas, the 14 year old HATES Asian food!! I have 3 kids and 2 of them LOVE it, go figure!! :confused3

We went to both on our last trip. My kids preferred Teppan Edo. Ages 15, 12 and 7 at the time. It was their favorite of the trip. When we take them back to the world and if I am on the DDP I am sure that will be a must do for the kids. I was the only one that loved CR. It was my favorite of the trip. I think it depends on what your kids like. My kids are all steak eaters and Teppan Edo is one of the few places that steak is on the kids menu. I think that it is the reason my 7 yr old gave it :thumbsup2.

Teppan Edo I will say probably has better food. You will be joined with a few others at your table; so, if you want to be yourselves it's not the place for you. The chef does a show in edition to the cooking at the table. To see the cooking being done on the table is enjoyable for kids. The atmosphere is giving out a little culture at the same time and I think that's great for children to be exposed to it.

Coral Reef's aquarium while you are eating is a great show, too. If you are in the back though it's not as great as being upfront.

I would check out the children's menu at both to make sure it's right for you.

I do believe there is always a longer wait to get seated at Coral Reef even if you show up early for your reservation. At Teppan it seems to take longer with the cooking end.

You won't go wrong with either one.

Had meals in both places in July.Loved Teppan and so did hubby and our 6yr. Hated Coral Reef-The chicken tasted like it had been cooked in a pot of salt.It was the most expensive meal we had at Disney in the 2wks and by far the worst flavour and value. Of course this is only my families opinion.

Last april we dined at both! Teppan was the first experience and CR was our 3rd.

I have young kids and I have to say Coral Reef would win for us. the atmosphere is amazing and despite bad food reviews here, we have never had a bad meal there. We love it.

Now my kids also enjoyed Teppan Edo but the menu did not serve my picky eaters well and they wasted a lot of food. We have a couple hibatchi type restaurants here at home and Teppan Edo was similar but with less food. It is a beautiful restaurant and I would return but with younger kids, I would do CR if I had to make a choice.

Good Luck and have fun!:goodvibes

My vote would be for Coral Reef. It was the best meal of our trip (just returned) and we ate at Le Cellier, and Narcossees as well. Coral Reef was fabulous for us-we requested a table right next to the tank when we checked in and told them that we would wait-went on the Nemo ride and were buzzed as soon as we got off. The kids loved looking into the tank and my husband and I loved or meals. I had the special fish (grouper that night) with risotto and it was amazing, also the Pineapple Mojito was great. We had a great experience and will surely go back next trip.

Teppen Edo was okay, not great. Steak is not on the children's menu-just shrimp or chicken. Our cook was okay, but not all that entertaining and the food was fine, but nothing special plus we felt rushed. Our child that was on the dining plan did not receive his meal in a monorail dish for some reason and we thought that there should have been more actual vegetables with the noodles served.
