Just wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether or not we would be cutting it too close to eat at Teppan Edo at 7:30 and still make it outside in time to see Illluminations. I had heard that the meal is a bit quicker than most WS restaurants because they cook the food right in front of you. Thanks.

When we went in July it took an hour and half from checking in a the podium. We had an appetizer, main course. but no dessert.

Form my experience, you'd be cutting it close!

I hope this helps!!

I agree. In my visits there they don't take even take your order until your table is full and everyone has had sufficient time to look at the menu. So you could be sitting a bit until your "food show" even starts.

Do they at least allow you to order an apetizer while you wait? I want to try the sushi sampler.

My suggestion would be to make your ADR time for 6:30 if at all possible.

I think 7:30 will be cutting it really close and there is a big chance you will still be in the restaurant.

I have to disagree with everybody we had 7:30 reservations we got to Teppan EDO at 7:15 and were seated at 7:30 and were done with dinner by 8:45

I alwayys thought that it took longer because everyone has to be at the table before they start then eveyone gets their drinks before the take your order. The cook everyones food at the same time and they start to clear and offer dessert at the same time. It took us almost 2 hours from checking in at the podium.

When we had a 7:30 ADR, we arrived at 7:15 and weren't seated until around 7:45, and didn't get out until 9:15. We caught the tail end of Illuminations right outside the entrance. IF this will be your only opportunity to catch it, I'd move it earlier.

This also depends on how fast the chef cooks.. When we went there, we got the slowest chef. We started first and the three tables surrounding us were finished and gone before we were half way through our meal.

To be safe, arrive a half hour early. In May, we arrived at 7:00 for a 7:30 ADR and were seated right away. However, we had to leave without dessert. I agree that it depends on your specific chef. Ours seemed to take along time to arrive, to cook, to finish up.

You will really enjoy it !!

Okay, the earliest ADR I could get was the 7:30 slot. How does it work if I show up early. Are they likely to accommodate us or will we be waiting until 7:30 or later?

They could accomdate you, or you could end up waiting until after 7:30, it really is a crap shoot. Everytime I've eaten there, I've always showed up early and ended up waiting past my ADR time. It is an extremely popular restaurant and they usually will seat an entire table at once, so the host(es) have a unique juggling act to acccomplish this feat.

why not try phoning that afternoon from the park (or stop at any restaurant), people cancel the same day - we have. Otherwise, I'd show up maybe around 6, explain your situation and see if you can get in early. Worst case scenario, you end up sitting down at 7:30 - perhaps you can tell your chef how great it would be if he could make sure you were done by 8:30 or 8:45.

Good luck!
