do you think this will be a fun birthday dinner? We'll be in epcot for our dd's brithday, and it also happens to be Chinese New Year. I know that TE is japanese but I thought it a fun experience. Thoughts? reviews?

Do you plan on eating at a hibachi table? If so I'd highly recommend it! Just remember they serve noodles and not rice with their teppanyaki. DGF and I make eating there a regular thing when we go to Epcot. They also have very good appetizer 'sushi' and cocktails.

yes I plan on seating at a hibachi table, the kids have never been to one and I think they will love it.

I don't have any ADR's made besides TE and CRT for breakfast. We're staying at epcot and really just plan on eating their, counter service, snacks etc. I can't make up my mind for anything else.

They have switched back and forth between the noodles and sprouts over the years, but they always serve a bowl of white rice. We got rice in August which is why I was wondering. They have never served fried rice like Kobe. Maybe that is what the poster was expecting.

I thought TE sounded good...was trying to get ADR's for there on 12/8 and do the candlelight processional, but all they can give me is dining at 2:30pm, with the show at 5pm. I'm not sure if DH will be happy with eating at that hour, and I'm not sure about TE. My kids have never been to a place like this. Is there food that they would eat, like steak, chicken, etc.? I really want this to be a nice dinner, and I'm just not sure about this cuisine since we've never eaten it before (but DH loves it). Thanks for any thoughts...

I could, and was most likely, mistaken then. I've not been to WDW for awhile.. thanks for clearing that up guys!

And yes, you can get steak, chicken, shrimp, and a variety of combinations and other things. Here's a link to their menu.

Hibachi places that I've been too all have been good. Do you like stir fry? From what we've had before it was a meal where you pick the meat but everyone gets soup, fried rice and your meat/veggie mix. I've never been disapointed :)

Could you do the 2:30 pm as a late lunch, the meal itself will probably take an hour, maybe a little longer? I'm not sure. It's a show and a meal all in one :haha:

I believe Chinese New Year is also Japanese New Year, as well as Korean New Year as well as most of Asia.
