Can't wait to try Teppan Edo! I was going to order the scallops, but I read somewhere that you only get maybe four. That's insane!! Can someone confirm??

Love the Scallops!!! I was happy with the portion size but then I don't eat alot. Someone with a larger appitite would proably be disappointed.

The scallops were excellent, and although I was disappointed that they only give out 4, it turned out to be the perfect amount for me. My teenage son could have eaten double the amount, but still recalls loving the food and wants to go back again.

I hate leaving a restaurant stuffed and Teppan edo leaves you wanting to come back for more :)

Yup it's exactly 4. The last time I went I was only one in my party to order scallops and I got exactly 4. But be warned if anyone else is ordering you might end up sharing ur portion with them. It happened on every meal we've had there, that's exactly why I ordered scallops, cause no one else did lol

Wow, 4 just doesn't seem like enough! I SO  them. BUT, if they are HUGE, maybe I'll try them anyway! :thumbsup2

So if another person at the table orders scallops, you may only get 2?

Well I'm not 100% sure how they divide up the scallops. I got 4 but I was the only one ordering it. I'm just assuming it'd be the case since that's what happen with other entrees. My parents ordered the shrimp and beaf and my sister ordered the chicken, and they basically got the same amount of food as the group of 4 ordering for 2. Each couple was sharing their meal, but they got the same equivalent if not more than what my group got. If someone else is ordering steak/beef or chicken, or shrimp at the table all of it gets pooled together then divided up by the server and placed on ur plate.

I know this happens every time we go there, cause I felt ripped off I was paying double the other couple that was sharing. And I can honestly swear to god that was the exact reason I ordered the scallops, cause NO ONE ELSE ORDERED it. I felt if I got only 4 at least I know my meal isnt being divided.

And even at 4 scallops and a bit of bean sprouts it was anything but filling. I got 2 pieces of noodles. The noodles went to the first 2 couples, we were left with the leftovers.

The food is good, but the bill doenst justify it, nor does coming out feeling hungry still

I talked about it in this thread too, and there was another poster (stichmama) that had a similar experience

This post is very misleading. :sad1:

Maybe the people that you saw were sharing a meal.
Example, if 6 people order the steak, the chef will come out with 6 steaks, scallops, say 4 people order, the chef will bring out 16 scallops.
DH always orders the steak and I order the scallops, I'll give him 2 of my scallops and he shares his steak with me.
We eat there about twice a month.

No at the beginning when we were all ordering, they told the server they were only going to order one entree and share. Both couples did this.

And the bill justisfied it. Their bill came to about 120 :confused3 we paid almost 300 including tips.

Maybe you've been luckier in that you've dined with people who are ordering separate meals, so when you see the food being split up, you dont feel ripped off. But for us, we've always been stuck with couples that split their meals, so to see the food being equally divided really turned us off.

Oh great. You're getting me scared that I made a mistake and we will be there in just 2 weeks! We have a really good hibachi place here in town and I was thinking Disney would be even better!

Dont let my post scare you, everyone can have a different experience. I might be wrong on the scallops, I'm just making an assumption.

I still think you should try it out. It's a good restaurant. The service is good too. You never know till you try it for yourself.

Maybe you can give us a review once you get back. Try getting one of ur groups to share their meal :lmao: see what happens, it might work out to their advantage lol

Ok. We will still give it a try. We'll just try the sharing!

How do you know what their bill came to? :confused3 and the most expensive entree at Teppan Edo is $30...how on earth would their bill have come to $120 if each couple was sharing an entree?
