Please give us a review when you get back. Happy eating!

:)

Thanks for the reviews. I have always wanted to try this restaurant and this March will be our first time. You talked about the long wait. We have ADR's for 7pm do you think we can make it out to see Illuminations in time??? I would think because that gives us 2hrs to cook our food and were heading down at the beginning of March so before the big Easter crowd shows up.

I can't wait to try this place. I think the kids are going to get a great kick out of the chef cooking right infront of us!!!:cheer2:

for the OP, what time was your res? we are also going to Teppan Edo before our illuminations cruise, and I am already worried about time, even before I read this
I just moved out adr from 6:45 to 6:00, now I am worried that isn't even enough time.

I was so happy to hear from someone who has visited this restaurant! We are eating there in a few weeks and it's my mom's birthday, so I want it to be a good experience! Thanks!

:yay:

13 more days!!!! woo-hoo!!

After reading this thread, I'm wondering about timing as well. :o I made an ADR for 7:30. We don't like eating early. Illuminations isn't a must see for us, but it would kind of be a bummer to walk out with only minutes of the show left. I'd rather miss the entire show, than be so close, yet so far away. ;)

Ooooh, I can't wait to try this place next year!!!! Thanks for the review!!!

We have a Japanese Steak house 15 minutes from our house and we are suppose to eat at Tempo Eddo (SP?) and I am wondering if it is a waste of time since it sounds like the Japanese Steakhouse close to my house. We are there quite often. Has anyone ever been to another and think that is is comparable and a waste of time since we go to one frequently. Sounds like the same old same old with the flipping of the knives, fire, volcano with sparkles, etc...

Just wanted to say my general thoughts about this restaurant... why aren't people trying out Tokyo Dining more?? Teppan Edo seems like fancified american food to me. Sorry. I mean, the tradition of grilling the meats on a teppan grill is a Japanese tradition, however, I must say, the chef's flourishing, the choices of meat you get.. ehh 75% American, 25% Japanese.

If your going to try Japanese food, why not try Tokyo Dining? They dont just have sushi and tempura.. they have hibachi grilled meats/salmon, japanese style cutlets...

Okay okay, if you have little kids, they WILL be very interested in the show that you get, i must say that. However, if you want something a little more "authentic--traditional" try Tokyo Dining :goodvibes

Okay and 2 more comments:
#1 - They do not have fried rice because thats a chinese dish, not japanese.
#2 - Youd be surprised how many times a Japanese person bows everyday. its just a habit, really and shouldnt be taken into any "heavy consideration." Its a very common custom for restaurant owners/servers.. even a worker at a convenience store to give gracious gestures that shows their utmost respect and deepest consideration that they just served a customer...

I apologize that this went on for so long and i realize now that i should have made a new thread... sorry! Hope i made a tiny bit more sense than i think i did. :confused3

Just speaking for myself, but for this restaurant it is about the show, not the food. We will be celebrating my 6 yo's birthday and he will love it

But just because it is more "american" doesn't mean it is a bad thing. Food is an evolving thing, and we are not the only country to adapt food from somewhere else and make it our own (though we are damn good at it!) And, a restaurant is above all a business, and you have to make what people will pay for.

Very very well said :thumbsup2 I totally agree with food being an evolving thing and countries adapting food from somewhere else. 100% Agree. I guess what i was getting at is that--if you have younger kids or even if your kids at heart!! go to teppan edo for the cool show (it really is awesome). If you want more Japanese food and culture, go to Tokyo Dining. I think i just got a little upset on the amount of people commenting on fried rice and the amount of bowing that the servers do :confused3

No fried rice = no ADR for me...

Thanks for pointing that out quixoticvalue.;)

I'm used to eating teppanyaki/hibachi meals WITH fried rice....

can't wait! We eat here on the 6th before the candlelight processional. I've heard some great reviews. I know my father would have been upset about the fried rice but he does agree that it's a chinese dish, not japanese. and he's not coming this time..haha! I'm not going to let the one missing dish deter me from trying this place. I was thinking of doing tokyo dining but my mom (who is coming with me) is a very picky eater and likes watching them make the food so she can ask them not to include things in her meal. :)

So it is on the regular dining plan? And also-do you know if they have MSGs in their food? If so I 'm gonna have to skip it. It sounds really good! My kids and hubby would get a kick out of all that bowing!!:rotfl:

Thanks, I was wondering if this place was worth making ADR. I guess I should.

The "show" is pretty much the same, I think we saw all of the "cooks" make the same jokes, but the table work and such were better with some than others. We really enjoyed it, and the food was terrific.
